Ducati wheels out the new Monster 821 with 112 hp

Ducati Monster 821-04

A new monster has been unleashed by the boys from Bologna. The new Ducati Monster 821 is a mid-size addition to the third-generation iconic naked bike range, following the unveiling of the Monster 1200 at last year’s EICMA show in Milan.

The 821 maintains the Monster’s signature look, while using the new chassis and muscular styling of the Monster 1200. Powered by the latest version of Ducati’s 821 Testastretta 11° engine, the bike combines 112 hp with 179.5 kg. The brand’s eight-level traction control, three-level ABS, three-level Ride-by-Wire and press-button Riding Modes are standard, as are high-spec brakes and adjustable seat height.

The Monster 821 Dark is presented in dark stealth with black frame/wheels, while the standard 821 is in Ducati red with red frame and black wheels, or star white silk with red frame and matte red wheels. Both red and white liveries come with colour-matched single-seat covers.

A new mid-size streetfighter contender had just arrived. Bring on the streetfighter shootout with Kawa Z800, MV Agusta Brutale 800 & Yamaha MT-09!

power output higher than most of the 1.5L car, with the weight divided by 6. to no wonder almost same price tag.

moto didn’t consume more torque because of its weight that is how it can reduce the torque and increase more HP.

Cant compared to Kawa Z800 4 cylinders 130hp and MV brutale 800 3 cylinders cause this 821 only got 2 cylinders but definately can fight with Honda CB650F 4 cylinders street bike

    • Your comparison is baseless bro.

why can’t it sits or fight with other 800cc bikes? Just because it has only 2 cylinders?

FYI having less cylinders certainly yields less overall hp but what if per cylinder, the factory manages to get more hp/cylinder??

and the key to has a fun bike is power-to-weight ratio. NO point having 113hp but with 200+ kg. PLus 2 cylinder L-twin is known for its right-off-the-tap power delivery.
