Audi A8 L 3.0 TFSI facelift price revealed – RM690k

Audi A8 L W12 quattro

Euromobil has put up a price list and brochure of the facelifted Audi A8 on its website. The new four-ringed luxury sedan will come in just one variant, a long-wheelbase 3.0 TFSI quattro, the same as before. Retailing at RM689,500 on the road without insurance, it costs a heady RM30,700 more than the outgoing model.

For that price, you do get more equipment as standard, including Audi’s new Matrix LED headlights with sequential indicators and a rear seat entertainment system that was previously a cost option. Also new are 15-spoke 19-inch alloy wheels in a polished finish.

The 3.0 litre turbocharged V6 engine produces 310 hp, 20 more horses than before, made from a higher base rpm of 5,200 to 6,500 rpm. Torque has also risen by 20 Nm to 440 Nm produced between 2,900 and 4,750 rpm.

Mated to the same eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive as before, it runs to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds (0.3 seconds faster than before), while top speed remains limited to 250 km/h. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.9 litres per 100 km.

With such a high price (as customary for a fully-imported model), the Audi A8 L 3.0 TFSI doesn’t compare very favourably to the just-launched Mercedes-Benz S 400 L Hybrid, which is locally-assembled and enjoys import and excise duty exemption thanks to its Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV) status. Not only does the Stuttgart competitor feature more kit, it also uses less fuel and is over RM100k cheaper.

Euromobile better just close shop. With the S400L, nobody is going to touch Audi’s trash. Overpriced trash.

MB S class is the best limo in the world. Who would want to pay more for a car that is more expensive and lower status?

Also, buy Audi, suffer Proton service standards. Everybody in Audi is from Proton and Proton we know have the laziest and good for nothing staff in the world. All half asleep and lazy like hell. Go Audi Euromobil SC and see, all Proton lazy bums

Don’t even bother launching. Why buy the A8L when you can get the safer, more advanced and more luxurious S400L for less?

At this price point, buyers would be less concerned about price. They choose what they like.

I much prefer the A8L than the S400. To each his own.

Sorry Audi (euromobil), even if you CKD the A8 hybrid its basically the A6 hybrid’s drive train and engine in an A8 body. FWD and a sub 250bhp 2.0 engine isn’t what you want to see in a luxury car of this level.
The only way you can sell an A8 is to bring the S8 to compete with the S63 AMG. Although thats kinda over the top and out of reach for most people.
IMHO if I’m spending more than 1mil for a luxury car I’d spend it on a Quattroporte

    • Audi did bring in S8 just never officially launch it as most ppl will whine about the price. I saw one S8 parking at concord hotel in KL.

Not that I can afford either A8 or S350 hybrid, but I think Mercedes will get 70-80% share of this market. While BMW 7series gets like 10%-15%,the remaining 5-10% will be shared by the likes of Audi and Co.

Don’t know if it is because Euromobil is under DRB,then it somehow affect my good impression towards the Audi…
There is nothing to doubt that Audi is a fashion brand compare to the Mercedes-Benz
But in terms of price…I will goes for S400 Hybrid instead of this one.

The Benz has got one up on this. Still flabbergasted at the price of the new Merc, it will sure result in a lot more riding in town. Sorry Audi, the Four Rings loses to Stuttgart’s Three Star.

First, the A6 Hybrid wins the E and 5. Now after tax restructure, S is gonna win the 8 and 7. Let’s see what the Munich guys gonna come out with next. AH3 at the price below 200k?

  • Why the hell they have to increase price of RM30k? Facelifted but still the same as current generation. Those options arent cost this much. Euromibil, what areu thinking?

Like or Dislike: Thumb up 1 Thumb down 0
  • Not that it justify the huge price difference but the Audi A8 is faster and has a quattro AWD.

      Benz has this:
Paddle Shift, Audi A8 dont have.
12 parking sensor, Audi only got 8.
Auto Parking, Audi A8 dont have.
      Panorama roof, Audi dont have.
Blind info system, Audi dont have
      3165mm wheelbase vs Audi’s 3122mm

The launch could not have come at a worse time….three days after MB slashed it’s price by more than RM300k, due to duty free status of the MB400LHybrid.
In fact the whole bunch, ie Audi A8L, Jaguar XJ, Lexus LS, and the BMW 7 Series are in deep trouble.
