With just a week to go before the first kick off between Brazil and Croatia, Hyundai, official partner of the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, delivered 1,021 vehicles for the event’s ground transportation. The Korean brand also unveiled the livery of the 32 buses that will ferry the teams at the official handover ceremony held at the Arena de Sao Paulo.
The Hyundai models handed over were the Equus, Genesis, Azera/Grandeur, Santa Fe, Sonata, Tucson, Veloster, H1 (Starex), H100 and the Brazil-exclusive HB20. Besides the players, the vehicles will transport FIFA officials, members of the organising committee, referees and media representatives throughout the tournament.

Hyundai will operate a complete service team at all World Cup stadiums and FIFA facilities to ensure top service support and assistance to the drivers and fleet cars. Prior to the delivery, HMB’s trained over 1,000 drivers to become familiar with each model, as well as learn about maintenance, safe driving techniques and routes. Then when they go back to their country, they will start to tell their people how good Proton is.

2. Company who make cronies and they tried hard to con worldwide.
Hyundai founded by Chung Ju-Yung in 1947 and Hyundai does not make cars only. It has steel corporation, train, university etc. Hence, Hyundai has many source of income.
Meanwhile Proton founded by Tun M in 1983 and produce the first Mitsubishi-based Saga in 1985 and Proton does make cars only. Now you’re still saying Proton was established around the same time as Hyundai? LOL Wake up your mind.

Hyundai was established in 47′, but the company was very small at that time and was little more than a small construction company, and given Korea’s situation at the time, it could do little more than building small farm house. Things got worse when the Korean War and when it ended in 1953, S.Korea emerge with a financial reserve smaller than most modern family. Their first foreign work was in small countries like Guam, Thailand and Vietnam. The steel mil and ship making came in 1973. Like how inokom makes Hyundai CKD, hyundai started out Building CKD ford cortinas in 1967. Their first all in-house car came in 1975 with the Pony(around when Honda started making cars), designed by giurgqrdo and engined by Mitsubishi.
So technically given that we were CKDing cars before proton came in, we had both the industrial and financial advantage to hyundai when they started. So proton and hyundai are 10 years difference in age, but 20 years difference in technology, 30 years difference in market size.

Kia made its first car in 1986, a few years after Proton, it is worldwide well known now.
Tesla Motor established in 2003, it is world wide well know now.
Geely produce its first car in 2003 too, it is world wide well known now.
Proton is Malaysia wide well known for its junk class build quality, thus Proton didn’t even dare to disclose sales figure (especially on their proudest models – Preve & Suprima S).
