New Nissan Navara D23 spyshots hit the web, set for global debut in Thailand next week

Spyshots of what is very likely the new 2014 Nissan Navara have surfaced online on a Thai forum ahead of its scheduled June 11 unveiling.

No ‘V-Motion‘ face here – the new pickup truck sports the traditional Nissan truck grille, with the two vertical slats now spaced further apart. Three horizontal grille bars interspersed with small vertical bars replace the previous many-slatted, but less intricate arrangement. The angular headlamps feature LED positioning lights, and there are LED daytime running lights integrated into the fog lamp chrome-surround.

A rear shot shows a V-grade Calibre King Cab, most likely denoting a rear-wheel drive (Calibre), extended-pillarless-cab-with-rear-suicide-doors (King Cab) variant. Enlarged tail lamps are clearly visible. Separate Calibre and King Cab versions of the current Navara are available in Malaysia.

Not the most eye-catching, ground-breaking design, is it? After seeing the Mitsubishi Concept GR-HEV, which previews the Mitsubishi Triton replacement, whose platform this new Navara is said to be borrowing, we were sort of expecting more wow.

Then again, perhaps the Triton replacement, which is also set to surface this year, could be more adventurously styled.

Both the current Navara and Triton are built at Mitsubishi’s Laem Chabang plant in Chonburi, Thailand (our Navaras come from Tan Chong’s Segambut plant).

  • The New Navara is not related with the new Triton.

This model is base on current Navara chassis :)
