Citroen Grand C4 Picasso – 2.0 BlueHDi to be previewed in showrooms nationwide this weekend

5078

Naza Euro Motors will be previewing the second-gen Citroen Grand C4 Picasso in all Citroen outlets nationwide this June 14-15 weekend. As intimated by spyshots of the MPV earlier in the week, the seven-seater will be seen in its 2.0 BlueHDi diesel form.

The 2.0 litre HDi four-pot oil burner is good for 150 PS (148 hp) at 4,000 rpm and 370 Nm at 2,000 rpm, and the mill is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. Performance numbers include a 207 km/h top speed and a 0-100 km/h time of 10.2 seconds.

We came across a copy of a Grand C4 Picasso brochure on a NEM salesperson’s Facebook page, and though the resolution isn’t all that hot, key features of the Malaysian GC4P can be made out. These include automatic air-conditioning and third-row AC vents, push-start ignition and a rear-view camera.

Also on the list, leather uplhostery, a seven-inch touchscreen driver interface and 12-inch high-def panoramic screen with navigation system, panoramic roof, an electric tailgate and 18-inch alloys. There’s also a massage function to be found on the driver and front passenger seats.

Safety kit on the 1,476 kg offering includes DSC, traction control, a blind spot monitoring system, lane departure warning and park assist. The people mover, which sits on the PSA Group’s EMP2 platform and has a 2,840 mm wheelbase, is available in four exterior colours locally.

The company adds that there’s a limited batch of ready stock for the diesel variant, and these are available for pre-booking.

This is actually quite exciting if they price it right. Safety features are all there, and with a decent diesel engine too, it should be cheap to run. And it doesn’t have EGS so it would be smooth to drive too.

    Sounds like a winner.

The DS is expensive because it is meant as a separate branding for Citroen. Hopefully the Grand C4 will not be as expensive as we thought.

What naza (and some others) really needs to do is come up quickly with a strategy to get Malaysians to look past T & H for standard cars and Merz and Bmw for premium marques.

people still have fears on the maintenence, and lets face it, sam loo wld not accept this into his yard when the time comes to trade it in and he would have a point: most average malaysians wouldnt touch a 2nd hand citroen or pug until its priced dirt cheap, and even then…

naza shld start an aggresive trade in programme to assure even the most prudent car buyer that there is a residue value.

efficiency sounds amazing for an mpv but the 0-100 figure is somehow not that exciting. .. thats actually slightly slower than an exora :/

French cars are lousy. Only in Malaysia people think its luxury. In Europe, if you drive a French car, people laugh at you cause Peugeot, Citroen and Renault are known to be junk cars.

We Malaysians pay a premium for junk cars.

Yeah right. I’m in Spain now, and most cars are French. Toyota is completely irrelevant, despite being priced rather attractively. The Germans who are here on holiday also frequently drive a French car, and my family has been driving French cars since 1986 (before that it was Japanese for a short while… totally unreliable junk).

I heard the expected price is about 195k OTR. The car is expected to be delivered to buyers by mid July.

I guess the nearest contender for this car is Ford S-Max. Are we expecting new S-Max this year?

If I were to choose between the S max and this i’d go with the citroen mainly because its cheaper to run. The s max may have a much more powerful engine but I prefer efficiency than power for a family MPV. Not to mention the Citroen is a very handsome & futuristic car.

      • If you include servicing costs, will the Citroen still be cheaper to run?

You sure 195k OTR ? I thought this is a cousin of Peugeot 5008 where it is selling arounf 160k ??

Not gonna sell much at such pricing of RM195k …… more so with the horrible resale value and question mark on after sales by NAZA ??

Malaysian buyers would rather buy re-cond Estima/Alphard/Vellfire for such price although those are overpriced 2nd hand with tampered mileage ….

So left with Mazda Biante, Nissan Serena so called Hybrid for brand new affordable mid size MPV ….. when is UMW bringing Toyota Noah ??

The 5008 is closely related to the PREVIOUS C4 Picasso. However the new C4 Picasso is based on the new EMP2 platform… eventually the 5008 will be too, but I guess it will take a few years.

I have the current version of this car which I bought three years ago for $138k I believe. At that price it was a fantastic buy and arguably the best value on the market for what it is. Its a great car to own and drive and has been enormously successful for Citroen in Europe in its own right without the need for DS marketing. I would definitely buy a second one as a replacement, but only if they price it below the SMax which is also in a class of its own space, design and handling wise.

  • wow …370nm of torque & FC only 4.6l/100km (21.7km/l) which is as frugal as the small mitsu atrage but with more powerful torque (4x the little mitsu’s torque)..

    • I am not interested in RV.
I am interested in design, safety and engineering.
You can keep your Avanza, Innova and those killer-on-wheels Alphards to yourselves..RV is the least of our worries if we ended up in hospital after an accident..

Euro5 engine can take Euro2 fuel?

Euro 5 engine can take Euro 2 diesel but the injectors will be subjected to shorter lifespan due to high content of sulphur in Euro 2 diesel (around 300ppm), which sulphuric acid created during combustion.

Too bad no sliding door. With the size of the rear door, after parked your car it will be difficult to open.

  • I think this car value buy. In UK, they sale 30K pound and BMW 5 series sale for 32K. It would be no point Naza high up the Premium car segment and increase car sale price eg like BMW and Merz. Must take note VW is top seller in UK and I think Peugeot-Citreon is not far behind. Renault sell more in Europe. I think after VW. VW have this DSG problems but still can claim manufacture defect for free replacement but cannot have car to use next couple of weeks. But DSG is a super gearbox since the time shift delay almost zero. That is why the VW car very responsive and nice to drive. Well a you can see, this car have a lot of electronics gadget even Toyota Previa 200Kplus do not have. But Previa is D-segment MPV and C4 just C-segment. This Diesel engine save 30% fuel consumpation and Turbo save another 30% more…than I would say almost 60% total compare with the non turbo and 4 gears series. So if you drive Honda Stream or Wish, you pay more on 40% more on fuel. Let said you used RM$600 for fuel and you save RM$200. so if your 5 years x 12 months x $240 equal RM$14400 save on 5 years fuel. Wait until the crude oil return back to US$100++ per barrel …you can save double RM$28800. So in europe, diesel engine is very popular where fuel is almost 80% tax. A good thing about diesel engine is the torque is high. High torque mean you can accelerate your car faster, So you can bit the jam with others car. Making faster T junction turn, overtake car faster and all this to prevent we all collision with other car. The 5 star N-cap mean your car must have very good braking system and when collision the driver and passenger car would be more safer. I seen a TOP car movie that when proton car run at 80kph and hit a barricade wall, the driver leg would be caught up with the braking pedal. So now you know why all the mid ages driver prefer Euro car since they protect their body. You do not want to leave you wife and small children become homeless and hunger. Last time I did a service for 10K this car just cost me RM$400++. So I believe it would be cheap to run since they share a lot of spare part with Peugeot. I think when Globalization come in latter stage, FTA agreement with Euro would be fulfill. So spare part can import directly fro ebay and etc without a lot of tax. So spare part wise, now is global resources. My friend always buy Merc spare part from ebay and second hand one just cost 10-20% of the Merz dealer. I think sooner, all the small kaki kereta workshop can be Merz, BMW abd etc service center. In Singapore, there is a sparepart dealer buy part form euro and import in singapore and re-export back to our asean country. since we have only max 5% import tax only with singapore. So some bussiness person when to singapore for shopping globally. I cannot understand why Malaysia still want to protect our National car. We where force to buy safety car with premium and imagine that one day, a law suit would be happen where people against the authority, where low safety car lead to car accident and necessary dead. In US, they found with ESP, the accident drop by 30%. Imagine how much life you can save with this 30%. We got the highest dead toll in car accident not just human factor but machine factor. I believe our car driver in Malaysia is much more better than the Nigerian and Iranian. You can see them every day in our road. I think, the government should implement point deduct system for this foreigner. When we go middle east to work, the the local knock your car, you have to pay since we are not local. So we should implement like them so the foreigner would drive more carefully.
