Ford FPV GT F 351 – final GT-badged Falcon debuts

Over in Australia, Ford has unveiled its limited-edition FPV GT F sedan – the most powerful GT sedan ever produced by Ford Performance Vehicles is also the Blue Oval’s final GT-badged Falcon.

Announced in April, the F suffix stands for a “Final” designation for the GT sedan. Production will be limited to just 550 units (500 for Australia, 50 for New Zealand), each individually numbered. Sales have been brisk – at last count, all but 10 of the 500 Aussie market cars have been snapped up, and should close out in no time.

The FPV GT F is powered by a 351 kW (471 hp) and 570 Nm supercharged 5.0 litre V8, the metric output for the Miami specifically chosen as a reference to the iconic 351 cubic-inch 5.8 litre V8s that powered the original Falcon GTs, namely the Falcon 351 GT of the ‘70s. With 21 hp more than the Falcon GT RSPEC that was released in 2012, the GT F cements its place in history by being the most powerful Falcon GT ever.

The V8 features a transient overboost function in the engine management system that will enable drivers to access 15% more power if the prevailing conditions are favourable. The car can be had with either a ZF six-speed automatic, recalibrated for use here, or a six-speed manual transmission.

Design elements on the GT F include a unique bonnet ‘black out’, which harks back to the original Falcon GTs – the panel extends over the roof and rear deck lid, giving the last FPV a unique look.

The car also gets a distinctive ‘stealth’ exterior striping package, together with gloss black accents on the ‘raccoon eyes’, grilles, appliques, door handles, mirrors and rear diffuser.

Elsewhere, GT orange-coloured detailing can be found on the model’s dedicated ‘351’ badging, instrument dial faces, seat stitching and embroidery, build number and manual transmission plaquette as well as the in-car console’s start-up screen.

The cabin, meanwhile, features a more contemporary look with darker tones and more lustrous finishes, and all FPV GT F owners will be able to purchase a tailored car cover in dark grey, replete with model logo and stripe print.

A 120-unit run of a special Pursuit ute variant was also unveiled alongside the FPV GT F. It features styling cues as found on the sedan, including the bonnet/roof/rear deck black-out, and is powered by a 315 kW (422 hp) version of the GT F’s supercharged 5.0 litre V8.

Bro, quite hard. Even my showroom has no 86 all the times. Showroom cars are already booked before they were driven to showroom.

I do admit it suppose to be cheaper, but company have a strategy on limited AP for CBU cars.

Is this another dual clutch by Ford? If so, then please have the tow truck’s number on your speed dial. Ford’s dual clutch is the same as VW’s DSG, both kaki breakdown.
