The second-generation Skoda Fabia has been on the market for a good seven years, so it’s high time for a replacement. And Skoda is clearly hard at work on one, as these pictures from our European spies show prototypes of a third-gen model almost undisguised.
The photos show a minimalist, sharply-designed supermini that takes its angular design cues from recently-launched siblings such as the Octavia and the Rapid. The new look is a world away from the cute and cuddly predecessor, although it appears to keep the optional two-tone paint schemes of the outgoing model.
The new Fabia will reportedly ditch the Volkswagen Group’s modular MQB architecture, instead riding on a revised version of the current car’s PQ25 platform. The car will include the usual range of VW engines shared with the Polo, although a hot vRS model has apparently already been confirmed to be off the cards due to poor demand.
The third-generation Skoda Fabia is expected to make its world premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October ahead of its market introduction at the end of the year.

Wow, never knew that Skoda could have matched Proton’s skill in production design. *BRAVO*
Look at the Skoda Rapid and the Proton Preve. They look like close relatives. Who copied who is hard to tell, because both were previewed by concept cars that were launched around the same time. Also, keep in mind that the Preve was designed by a famous Italian design company Italdesign Giugiaro, which is owned by VW since 2010. Italdesign Giugiaro designed several Maserati, the DeLorean, the first Golf, Scirocco and Passat, the Alfa 159, Brera and more, some Lamborghini, …
Except for the botched rear lights the Preve is a good looking car. I wonder why no one has fixed that aftermarket, only the part of the light attached to the bootlid needs to be modified to improve it a lot.
I heard someone said in last article about this contest that beautiful design is not important..
I hope once the last bits of disguise come off it will look good. Hopefully the headlights are covered up a big, cause that thing is rather hideous. The old one was much better looking…
I also wonder if it really makes sense to keep the old platform. It will limit the engine options, the accessories etc., and I thought the new MQB platform was meant to reduce production costs, weight etc.?
Why does it looks… Odd
Because its a tall car.. The roof is taller than polo or golf
WOW Finally! A car that actually, REALLY, looks like PREVE! (no pun intended)
bring back skoda to malaysia!
such a tragic that many malaysians dont know about skoda and comparing it with our “beloved plotong”.. katak bawah tempurung..
skoda builds good cars with good practicality, cabin space is much better than its elder sister vw..
Fabia, Rapid, Octavia, Superb..
plz bring back the skoda brand in msia
Put it back in disguise!
ugly look
Skoda Labia sounds nicer IMO
Czech junk.
The design looks super dated… not a nice car at all
Miss d old Skoda with Czech built engine..eversince they use Vw tsi its getting more complex and expensive to maintain..My uncle still keep his Old Skoda though
Those who say it looks like Preve have serious visual problem and should visit doctor immediately.
Preve looks 100 times better than this junk. If you say this Skoda looks like Tiara, I have no objection.
