VIDEO: 7-seat BMW 2 Series Active Tourer on the ‘Ring

It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen this particular BMW prototype on test. It looks like a BMW 2 Series Active Tourer with longer rear doors, a more upright tailgate and more space between the C- and D-pillars, hinting at a possible three-row seven-seater MPV version of the Active Tourer.

Both this long version as well as the regular BMW 2 Series Active Tourer prototype was spotted on test together quite regularly before the production BMW 2 Series Active Tourer was made public.

Now it looks like BMW might be preparing to launch this longer version soon, as it has started being spotted on test frequently again. YouTube channel Touriclips managed to snag a video of it being tested on the Nurburgring. If you want to see of all things a front-wheel drive MPV with a BMW badge being trashed around the corners then this is the video to watch.

There’s still plenty of camo on it, but given BMW’s current ‘same sausage different length’ design school we expect the front half of the car to look exactly like the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.

  • No more BMW models .. Please.. on Jul 04, 2014 at 2:15 pm

I’m seriously sick of BMW news.. It’s always the same car , sliced either at the back to make it a 2 door version of the same car, sliced the roof to make it a convertible of the same car, sliced the boot to fit a larger boot and call it a tourer/GT/whatever BMW calls it, of the same car.. Puts a larger , more powerful engine and calls it M but on the same car… There’s just way too many useless models from BMW.. Even for the European market.

  • I’m not a big fan of BMW but this small MPV caught my attention and at least its looks better than its direct competitor MB B class inside out, although B class its been around for sometime but to be fare lets wait for B class face-lifted version first.
