Honda Jazz Mugen Kit- 5

So, the 2014 Honda Jazz has finally launched in Malaysia. Thinking of getting one? Well, so are over 500 people so far, so you’re gonna want yours to stand out a little, won’t you? Fret not, for Honda Malaysia has aesthetic answers in the form of the Modulo and Mugen packages.

The Modulo package gives you a bodykit with sports pedals for an extra RM2,650, while the Mugen package, offered for the first time here on a Jazz, gives you a bodykit, tailgate spoiler and Mugen emblem for an additional RM4,900.

At the launch event this morning, Modulo- and Mugen-equipped Jazzes were on display – both E-grade variants. The Modulo car sports a moustache-like two-tone grille. The two-tone treatment carries through to the side skirts and rear bumper, creating a sort of ‘floating’ look.

It also wears items not mentioned in the package – door visors, side step illumination (which you get as part of the RM1,250 Utility package), a spoiler and striking Modulo wheels.

The Mugen machine features a pretty mean-looking diffuser-like element on its rear bumper, and rides on eight-spoke Mugen wheels, which are also presumably for display purposes. This car is fitted with the RM3,220 optional navigation system, a third-party unit co-developed with Honda Malaysia.

And the white color may look more outstanding since having the black color “line” surround the kits.

    [continuation….

I never like any if the Modulo bodykit, it Ruins practicality in expense of no performance gain, and this is coming from a Honda fan. But I really do like the Modulo kit on the new jazz. It reminds me if one if the Gundam mecha suit, the same reason why I like most Honda cars like the odyssey and the previous city, same reason why I like the optima K5.

But the Jazz Mugen in that color does look stunning, simple, bigger more aggressive(and presumably fake) vents looks really like a proper for-aerodynamic bodykit, and the rims are much better, more JDM. So if I were to plonk down cash for a useless, all-look, no-go bodykit, breath in and get the Mugen kit, so much less showy than the Modulo too, which is a bonus.

And regarding the navigation…..does that option extand to the V-spec version too? Dosent the jazz get mirror link like te city?

I must say the new Tinted Silver looks fantastic, I was a bit sad the yellow was not coming in, but after seeing Tinted Silver, this was probably the best colour (at launch).

Looks very JDM like I must say, and not so fake looking like the TRD ones. Though I just realised the new font for the model name, kinda prefer the older one, looked nicer.

All in, a good job well done by Honda.

Oh, and no, while it does get MirrorLink, the touchscreen unit doesn’t come with nav. However, I think what you can do is start the nav i.e. like Waze or Apple Maps on your iPhone, then connect via mirror link so the display and sound is rerouted to the car. Not sure if it works, but don’t forget the data plan costs too.

        • I read the calculation done by a commentator here and i believe it’s legit.

RV is more less same between japs or local. The more expensive the car the more lost you have qhen you resell it.
