Nissan Note Nismo – first photos of the sportier hatch

Nissan-Note-Nismo-0005

Nissan’s Nismo tuning outfit have put their touches on the bread-and-butter Nissan Note hatchback, turning it into the Nissan Note Nismo. Exterior-wise, it gets sportier bumpers, grilles and wheels, while the interior gets sports seats. The little splashes of red around the body looks good, doesn’t it?

Nismo have tweaked the car in terms of powertrain, chassis, tyres, suspension and aerodynamics. Yes, the engine has been tweaked, but we’re not too sure to what extent. The car is supposed to have a 5-speed manual gearbox, so we’re expecting the base engine to be the 1.5 litre normally aspirated four cylinder engine that you normally find in the Note, so we don’t know how far powertrain tweaks can go.

The Nissan Note competes head on with the Honda Jazz, since both cars are B-segment high roof hatchbacks. We’ve previously seen a Nissan Note with trade plates driving around in Malaysia, and ETCM showcased the Nissan Note at last year’s KLIMS13 show, but there hasn’t been any other updates on the possibility of the car coming to Nissan Malaysia showrooms since then.

I’ve sat in the Note in KLIMS, and it holds similar comparison with the Accord vs Teana. Teana is better looking while the Accord is better speced(safety aside). The Jazz interior is more futuristic and the Note basically an Almera and more hard plastic than usual.

Both have its own perks and the only way it will kill the Jazz is if ETCM price it below the Almera. But otherwise, like the City and the Almera, not much advantage the Nissan B-segment has over the Honda to effectively ‘kill’ it…

If the Note could kill Jazz, Proton GSC is doomed for sure.

The girl looks better than the car. But at least this car is not as fugly as Almera on the exterior…interior, it is still very fugly with the Almera design copy pasta over (ex: the aircond vent from the 70’s).

Ya, pl. launch fast. and hope the price is affordable . Of course , should be option of Manual / auto transmission. Personally , I prefer Manual.cos I like control my driving style more ,rather than auto. Also it is cheaper to maintain, better initial pick up more confidence to overtake cars that too slow on fast lane n better mileage per liter. There are other advantages too,.
