This is what the dashboard of the upcoming 2015 Kia Sorento will look like. This official sketch by Kia shows a stylish evolution of recent Kia efforts in the Carnival and Carens MPVs. It also follows the minimalist trend seen on Audis and Mazdas to some extent, as opposed to the button-rich centre stack of today’s car. The gearknob looks pretty unique, too.

Kia says that its Frankfurt design team was influenced by the “finest modern Swiss watches” in the design phase. The smoothly-contoured cabin features a higher proportion of soft-touch materials, leather and stitching, as well as Kia’s latest HMI (human-machine interface), the company says.

This cabin preview comes after Kia released official sketches of the third-generation Sorento’s exterior and a video teaser late last month. The SUV features a bold, wide “tiger nose” grille that’s connected to slim headlamps. The video teaser reveals a Y-spoke wheel design.

A domestic launch followed by a Paris international debut in October? Spyshots of the new Sorento and a refresher gallery of the current model below.

That’s how a proper European-look dashboard should be, ergonomically modern yet pleasantly simple. Looks natural and not half-baked (unlike Proton Suprima and Preve).

As long as it is not kimchi, it will have RV.

As long as it is not Proton, it will have build quality.

I feel sorry you can’t afford Toyota new technologies (Hybrid, 86, Lexus etc).

        Work harder then.

To be fair Toyotas are very2 reliable and have low maintenance cost. This is the biggest factors why it has good RV. But when it comes to safety and driving dynamics, its one of the least. For the same pricing levels, if you value money buy Toyota, if you value life buy cars with EuroNCAP 5 stars. Off course not all Toyota have low safety features, if you can afford buy Lexus then.
