Fancy yourself a car expert, and have a knack for writing? Do you think you have what it takes to be a motoring journalist? Well, now’s your chance to be a part of the paultan.org crew. That’s right, we’re looking for new writers to join the gang!
Certain things, you either can, or cannot do. Writing most definitely falls into that category. If you’re intrigued by the prospect of making a living out of words and, more importantly, think you can pull it off, it’s time to channel your inner Setright (or Clarkson, if you so wish) and write in to us.
No, you don’t have to come up with a 3,000-word thesis on why you think the McLaren P1 is the best thing since the F40, nor do you have to try to sound like Anthony Lim to impress us. In fact, don’t write in attempting to impress us at all – leave that thesaurus well alone, thank you ;)
What we want is for you to project your own voice. Your own spin on things that you think matter. Write something, anything, that is worth reading about, and email it over to [email protected] together with your resume.
Some say it’s the best job in the world. Why don’t you find out for yourself?
PS: We’re looking for a new writer to expand our team. No one is leaving, especially not Harvinder ;). In case you’re wondering, it’s a full-time position, and yes, girls are welcome as well. Very much so.
Wow.. Love it man.. Btw..When is the closing date?
Good one. After all, we should be fact based and objective.
You don’t like Toyota, you don’t have to get out of Malaysia/Japan. I sincerely wish every hardworking Malaysian get a good ride.
I dun like Toyouyut because it has 7 O :
1.Overpriced
2.Overrated
3.Overhyped
4.Out of proportion
5.On garbage lorries
6.Outdated
7.Obsolete
Our celup ‘Flying Sikh’ is leaving? Who’s going to wear the skirt now? Lol!
Ohhh… really? The face-off guy…
Thanks MCMC, seeing some result in web developing… We have an ave near 70% broadband users while WP P, WP KL, SLG, PP, NS top5 subscribers.
The F1 racing & cars collision scene in 3D video clip from Driven ~10yrs ago from a multimedia faculty lab still in my memory but not sure its the same Driven mentioned below…
The online business still not able to penatre shop based business…
It’s time, it would be good, if you can get someone who knows in-depth about car, a real technical guy to put on your team..
for example, a taiwanese site buycartv.com
their review about a car is really in depth, we as reader almost can decide if were to get a certain new car model by just watching their review.. and its only 1 man show doing the talking..
Sam Loo, you better apply now
he is 2nd on the top left already lol
Really?
Positive move at least I saw some ADs that contribute income to paultan.org to figure those hired journalists every month end.
Get me in….
start one column for …motoring for “connected people”
Into which area, journalists?
To talk abt business, there also another team working on branding Paultan.org increasing its popularity then another hand gaining some ADs business across msia.
Are u business minded or a writer?
Im talk a lot about tech in a car. All this after reading only once from catalogs or print. Im not so kaw kaw in writing but can live with it. Interested? U know how to get me
You’re disqualified the second you posted this comment.
Pening already reading only 2 lines from you, don’t la brother.
Perhaps a more diversify team? just saying…
Diversify based on WHAT?
If you are thinking “race”, and not the car vs car kind, go slap yourself in the face.
Just hire whoever has the best talent/personality and/or fits the team the best.
“Diversified”.
Would love to try but I guess my infamous grammatical error would prevent it. Might as well throw some words around and send to you lots. Thou at the moment, my studies might prevent this.
I would LOVE try my luck at being a part of the BEST motoring journalist crew in Malaysia, but my studies and age will get in the way.
Oh well.
Please continue your studies. Return only when you have a better command of English, boy!
If I remember correctly, Aero’s command of English is pretty ok.
Yeah go study and stop wasting time here.
Is this a full time post?
Yes it is. Can’t do it any other way ;)
Hire a female. Let’s read about their POV.
I would love to, but I’m only 15 hahaha
Are u serious? I mean you did not Inform us to whom we need to email, what kind of car to review or when is the closing date. There is commitment shown huh!
Perhaps you may want to read the post in full before commenting. And this is not a competition, so there’s no closing date.
Cheers mate!

All the batang batang guys back off. Let them female petrolhead join and diversify Paultan’s crew :P
Can’t say I am not interested but I assume that you guys are looking for people from the Peninsular only or someone who’s willing to relocate to the Peninsular. That leaves out many of us Sarawakians and Sabahans. =/
I guess people living in Europe are out too?
France cannot. Coz they overheat fast. Journalist need cool head like toyota.
What? Do you think Toyota radiator can last forever if no water inside?
That’s joke of the century.
oh well, what to do? unless they wanna establish branch offices at Sabah & Sarawak……
So the “Flying” Sikh is leaving i guess? Don’t see the flying sikh in the picture though or probably the one that the face was taken off is him
How much are we talking here?
Are u from uitm? If yes, prrss exit.
If you are mat kutu pls GTFO
I would be very interested to join, especially as a contributor from East Malaysia. 4x4s are my specialty with offroad sections are amiss from paultan.org. Sportscars are also my kind of thing, where I can also talk on aftermarket parts and tuning much like those in H*perT@ne. I’m just as excited about cars and the typical “testdriver” at every showroom that i can find. Feel free to contact me though via email. Cheers!
I think you are better writing buaya darat or buaya stories than writing car. I am serious….
Paul pls hire ladies into your crew to Spur and perk up the Gentlemen . EYES Candy and sweet candy for all readers and viewers of Paul tan .org =)
No absenteeism comfirm. Everyday go work
Don’t believe all this B.S.
See all farking Chinese writers already know all these buggers from DAP. Farking biased shit.
Y are u saying that? I never see they posting something bias sarcasm yes but not bias.
why so racist for no reason?
typical DUMNO-brainwashed-mindset
If all chineses are DAP then those in MCA are who???malay is it???stupid racist….
MCA stands for…hahaha Love is in the air !
What is the basic salary? Any allowance?
my dream job, but my english is not excellent. Is there any vacancy for me to join Paultan’s team?
How about joining gila gila magazine? You only need bahasa pasar qualification.
Im half italian..but my english is so so…i love to write about sexy woman and their sexy car….
What a wonderful opportunity to escape this mundane desk job! Do I stand a Ghost of a chance? Nothing ventured, nothing gained. I’m sending my resume. Please don’t laugh at my picture.
I wish I could join, but geographical issues are stopping me here >.>
However, having said that, I would highly suggest anyone who is good at writing to sign up. Seriously. I have met these people in real life before and they are very friendly, and definitely unbiased. One of the good things that still get me back to this site is the attention to detail. It’s funny that when you read some other sources like Autocar Asean, they have some serious proofreading issues where the specs of a BMW are gracing the page of a Nissan. I didn’t know Nissans have TwinPower Turbo technology and VANOS.
PS: For those of you who are saying there isn’t a female writer at all, I would highly recommend you to visit their sister site, http://www.infokereta.com which is run by Izwaashura Sadali, it’s pretty good.
Fufu, I’d like to. I’d love to cover news and everything Volvo, which i find under represented.
Naturally as a Volvo fan, safety is a subject of my interest, i could lend a voice to advocate for better car and road safety and safe driving practices. The Axia is yet another tragedy i see carmakers taking safety lightly (cannot provide ESP, at least full ABS+EBD to all), exploiting our market’s ignorance. I feel a writer can influence the market (and govt’s will to device policies) to put more emphasis on safety, so I’d love to let that voice be heard by those that needed to listen.
I also figure paultan even though a car blog, nothing wrong encouraging public transport. I can cover this issue too, with MRT, LRT extension, LRT3 Klang-KJ/SJ proposal, BRT, etc.
I’m currently in accounting practice, I can also give insight from a professional accountant’s perspective, on govt’s policies, its impacts, tax implication, etc. But i still have a lot I’d like to learn, so unless you guys are open to freelancing, perhaps in the future. All the best.
Your opinion already bored me to death. Please dont write else i rather read obituary. Dont you know accounting is the most boring subject?
A good opportunity that I hate to pass coz I’m not in Klang Valley area.If its part time or if can work from home, definitely count me in.
For petrolheads that also have a passion for writing, this is one of those one in a million opportunity.
A woman will definitely spice things up
Part time can ah?
hey hafriz, any chance on writing reviews for this webpage but not as a full timer? i’d love to contribute to this wonderful page as well…perhaps i’ll write in a sample review and a resume first…
can write in chinese or japanese ?
I would love to apply too.
I always give my finest and unbiased reviews on all cars posted in this site, I may be the next Jeremy Clarkson for all you know.
Unbiased? Are you sure?
Naaaaahh
Next!!!
Unbiased?????yeah right…..
Sure or not? I scare your vw dsg fail before even reaching office. Then what you write…a journalist seat from tow truck sam seat …hehehehe
There’s too many Yang in Paultan, we need some Yin to balance things up.
I wanna apply. But prefer freelance or something like “volunteer reviewer”
I’d love to do part-time. I think many would too. It’s the age of the internet. Many would prefer to be anonymous.
I might be frolicking in the streets of Monaco. Or lazing on a beach in the Maldives. Contribute some articles. No commitment. No time constraints. If article accepted, just pay, that’s all.
Deal?
Nope. Go chase a cat instead. Woof woof.
I just noticed there is a big Snow Walker toy model on the floor in front of everybody. Who’s is that…who is the Star Wars fan in the group? Is it Paul Tan, Hafriz or someone else?
You guys need a girl in that team!!!
i think im not the only one who calls him the samloo guy right.
“Nor do you need to sound like Anthony Lim to impress us”
LOL.
@Anthony Lim , time to nipplelize the office!
*volunteers to perform on your behalf* :3
Except ‘Sam Loo’…scared my hands get tattooed with Toyota logo later.. T_T
take motoring journalist from borneo region???
I’m a girl and I’m so into cars, but I’m not so sure I’m good enough. I’d love to be part of your team!
Hi,I’m really interested in applying for your job offer, but am I eligible? I’m 17 this year.
I’m a car enthusiasts and I really love cars.
I would like to have an opportunity to do something which I love =) pls reply me,Thx
I would like to join you guys’ team and had been thinking about it for a period of time. I am 16 this year. My ambition is to become a reviewer and wish to join the paultan.org team. By the way, how am I going to register?
