Peugeot generally are nice cars to drive but their warranty principle is totally in the pits, probably nasim’s. They refused to finish their job in resolving my problem which was reported prior to the exipry of the warranty period. They tried resolving it during the warranty period after changing a few parts but still couldn’t, incompetence perhaps. Now they say they have found the main culprit and said they would change the part and resolve my problem. But now that the warranty period is after 3 years, I have to pay part of the cost of which they claim as goodwill. This is an unfinished job, a problem that they are required to resolve which was reported prior to expiry of warranty. For those owners, please re-check your turbo water pump (mine kaput) and engine mount (mine cracked). My problem was thought to be absorber link (and they changed it) but it wasn’t to be, so my problem still persist. Then they thought this was the problem i.e. the steering rack but it is now pass the warranty period and I must pay. Even with me having all records to show that the problem was reported prior to expiration of warranty period, they still insist I have to share the cost. Go figure. What a bully. For those to be new owners, please look elsewhere if the urge of owning a pug is not that great.

Yes I know… Peugeots is destroyed by Nasim Naza. Everyone avoiding the brand like a smelly shoe… No wonder they need to come up with such silly schemes that you “win” to test drive… because the news about poor after sales is out… and no one goes to a Peugeot showroom anymore

I am from Europe. Let me tell you how we see French cars. French cars have great design, nice interior, they drive great and they are very comfortable. But they are not as reliable as German cars, not to mention Japanese cars. Up to you what you buy, just don’t expect that sexy fun French car to have the quality of a boring Toyota.

German brands are Volkswagen, Audi, Mercedes, BMW and Porsche.
French brands are Peugeot, Citroen and Renault.
    Volvo is from Sweden.

i am from europe too and in the uk, peugeot ownership is going up and everyone who owns a pug knows that the stories abt pugs being crap is all bullshit to sell more german cars. germans cars r also problematic not only pugs. although merc’s ownership rating for dependability is going up better than bmw.

In the US, bmw has poor ratings for ownership due to the high cost of maintenance.

Been a owner of Pug308 Turbo for almost 3years (Warranty period almost finished)
Car bought after first year – Gearbox Jerking, sent to service center and left for few days, problem still existed.
Car bought after two years – Gearbox Jerking becomes serious, send back again but problem still existed.
Car bought after 3 years – Car is shaking extremely at Gear No.1, Jerking Problem, Air Con Problem.. Send back again but problem still EXISTED!!

Even though the car had been send back for regular check up but the problem never fix. Everytime when there is a problem, they ask us to “hospitalized” the car at service center for 3days. Even thousand time of 3days we sent in, it can NEVER be fixed as long as it’s within warranty period.

    Just Like That,

Hello my felow Euro. I would be delighted if the French got their act together. They keep saying they have, but I am not convinced. I love driving French cars, I just don’t want the worry of owning one. I had a Citroen once, that was enough thank you.

I always drove European cars back home, but after coming to Malaysia I got myself a Toyota and discovered a whole new level of quality and reliability. Sure I miss European design, ride quality and sophistication, but I am willing to trade all that for a car I can trust.

As for the Germans, they have had quality problems of their own the last few years, that is true. VW still has. But Mercedes in particular, and also BMW, have major efforts going to catch up with the Japanese in quality.
