BMW has released an enormous 240-photo gallery of its new BMW M4 Convertible, seen here dipped in Silverstone Metallic, which we have assembled after the jump for your viewing pleasure.
The roofless model shares the same 3.0 litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine with the M3 Sedan and M4 Coupe, producing 431 hp and 550 Nm of torque – 10 hp and 150 Nm more than the 4.0 litre naturally-aspirated V8 in the previous M3.
Despite being nearly 180 kg heavier than the coupé model due to the complicated three-piece folding hardtop and additional chassis strengthening, it rockets to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds with the standard six speed manual, or 4.4 with the optional seven-speed dual clutch transmission (M DCT). That’s just 0.3 seconds slower than the fixed-roof model, and the top speed remains the same electronically-limited 250 km/h.
The roof folds into the boot in 20 seconds, and is operable at speeds up to 18 km/h. Boot space is 370 litres with the roof up and 220 with it stowed. Neck warmers built into the seats are optional extras, and the wind deflector has been redesigned from the previous generation’s.
