The Jaguar F-Type coupe was recently previewed at the Malaysian International Gourmet Festival which was held at the Sunway Convention Centre. Two variants of the coupe were on display – the F-Type S and the F-Type R.

Interested parties are now welcomed to place their orders at respective Jaguar Land Rover showrooms across Malaysia as the order books are now open. The launch of the car is scheduled to take place in the middle of October.

The F-Type coupe is expected to be available in all three variants when the car is launched, similar what is being offered with its convertible cousin, which is now available in Malaysia.

The base coupe and the ‘S’ variant are powered by a 3.0 litre supercharged V6, pumping out 340 hp and 380 hp respectively. Torque figures measure in at 450 Nm for the base model and 460 Nm for the ‘S’ version.

The F-Type R coupe, on the other hand, gets a 5.0 litre supercharged V8 developing 550 hp and 680 Nm of torque. All models get an 8-speed automatic transmission. As of now, prices are still unconfirmed.

Spotted 2 F-types already this month [roadster], not as abundant as say, a Porsche 911 (991). Was lucky enough to witness it within a tunnel and my god the sound, not sure if its a V8, or the V6, but the sound is just glorious and this.

Adding in, in my very selfish and totally personal opinion, it beats the Porsche in the looks department.

    • not many but a handful. However, due to Malaysian mentality. Those who can afford at this price level usually will opt for recond Ferrari or Lambo. And for those who wanna be perceived as high class will go for Jag XJ or S-class instead of this baby. So this is actually niche market. Not only in Malaysia but everywhere in this world.

for those who think this is better than a 911, then you have clearly never driven a 911 or even a Cayman for that matter. Caymans mid engine layout and its lightness makes it one of the best handling sports cars in the market today, undershadowed by the 911. F type has more power and looks better but that’s all it has
