Peugeot RCZ price revised – RM272k for auto variant

Nasim has revised the price of the Peugeot RCZ sports coupe, bringing the cost of the automatic variant up to RM271,888, on-the-road with insurance. On the bright side, lovers of the manual version can still purchase the RCZ at a lower price of RM248,888, OTR with insurance.

The price sheet confirms the auto variant has had its price increased as far back as August 26 2014, while the manual’s price sheet hasn’t been updated since February 15 this year. Following the price pattern for the Peugeot RCZ, the manual variant has always commanded a premium of roughly RM5,000 over the auto.

With that said, we could be looking at a possible increase for the manual variant in the future – a figure bordering RM277k, perhaps? Only time will tell. From what we can gather, there doesn’t seem to be any noticeable upgrade in terms of equipment offered, leaving us scratching our heads at the price hike.

The Peugeot RCZ is powered by a 1.6 litre inline four-cylinder engine with 156 hp/240 Nm and 200 hp/275 Nm of torque, respectively for the auto and manual. Performance figures include a top speed of 213 km/h and 237 km/h, with the century sprint dispatched in 8.4 seconds versus 7.5 – auto and manual, respectively.

There are many other cars out there with better performance but cost less – such as the A250, the Golf GTI, the Megane RS265 and the Subaru WRX.

Don’t forget that Golf R and Scirocco are similar priced but offer better performance. RCZ is for poser only, enthusiast will stay away.

NAZA? Another crony company which enriched themselves thru connection. I do admit they are hardworking and willing to bring in more brands. But c’mon la, where is the price reduction as stated by BN? BN? really a joke of the century.
