Pitting an eight-tonne Volvo FH against a Koenigsegg One:1 on a track run may seem like quite a mismatch, but this then is the premise of the short video titled Volvo Trucks vs Koenigsegg. It’s a race around a course, yes, but all done in a slightly different manner.
Seeing as the 1,360 kg Koenigsegg One:1, with its 1:1 power to weight ratio, was that bit faster, the Volvo FH received a small handicap – it had to do one lap, while the Koenigsegg did two around the Knutstorp race circuit in southern Sweden. Piloting the Volvo FH was motor racing personality Tiff Needell.
Volvo Trucks’ new I-Shift Dual Clutch gearbox was launched in Europe in June this year and is available on all markets selling the Volvo FH with Euro 6 D13 engines in 460, 500 and 540 hp output tunes.
The purpose of the challenge was to showcase the workings of the new dual-clutch transmission, which is unique in the heavy trucks segment, and put it to the ultimate test. How did it and the bulky FH fare? Not too shabbily, as it turned out.

Wow .. it has DSG too.
Why is this pensioner driving? Shouldn’t he be in a retirement home…
Tiff Needel should come to Malaysia and race our drug induced truck drivers instead.
Even without a racing car tech, our skilled container truck drivers have managed to race their old Volvos plus a container, against spirited Civic and Beemers on PLUS.
What Tiff did was nothing.
Hahaha…
The only time Tiff Needel is not in the shadow of Jeremy Clarkson.
Yes.. and he can run half as fast as Usain Bolt!
i think the volvo marketing team is doing a phenomenal job at promoting their brand new trucks. now i want one myself…huhu
Does malaysian truck got speed limiter to?
No matter how great this lorry is, it is still bound with the 70 km/h speed limit on federal roads and 80 km/h on expressways. Drive faster than that and expect a magnificent pileup.
