VIDEO: Lotus F1 hoon around Dubai Mall in Twizys!

There are many ways to have fun in malls – especially at Dubai Mall, the world’s largest. You could shop till you drop and buy till you’re dry, observe marine life in the Aquarium and Underwater Zoo, watch an elaborate fountain show or simply marvel at the grandeur of its architecture.

Or, as Lotus F1 team drivers Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonado demonstrate in this video, you could hoon about the place in Renault Twizy electric vehicles! The duo slide around pillars, sail through arches and slalom around island stalls – having heaps of fun in the process. Grosjean even, in a spot reminiscent of The Italian Job‘s famous deleted scene, does pirouettes on the ice rink.

Along with the Renault truck’s recent record-breaking leap over the Lotus F1 car, this represents a last marketing hurrah for the team, as the next Formula One season will see them switch to Mercedes engines.

Nice Ad! Gives a glimpse of the amazing Dubai Mall shopping complex. Too bad the F1 engines do not perform as good this year. Maybe Lotus will do better with Merc engines in 2015? We shall see.

These are like a viva sneaking behind you and over take you from left when you are driving a tall SUV or pick up. They will meet the maker very soon driving like that.
