Hopping on the performance-data-recording bandwagon, Volkswagen is now offering its customers the option to document every possible performance criteria with the LogBox and RaceApp feature – mirroring what Renault has done with its R.S. Monitor feature.
Priced at €299 (RM1,276), the LogBox is installed inside the vehicle, which then transmits all the relevant data to the RaceApp feature on the respective owner’s smartphone via a Bluetooth connection. The app then streams live information to the driver including speed, boost pressure, G-forces harnessed and the like.
For individuals with something to prove, the app also possesses a record mode which registers information such as lap times and best century sprint runs. RaceApp also features the ability to record an overview of the lap of a circuit that the owner has just driven on.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Or you could get an OBD II controller and connect it to a cheap app for the same thing if not more features. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_raKYG7SLQ
oh and its also compatible with all modern cars
Why we need to know those information? The one normally displayed on the dashboard is sufficient..
When you say this, it shows 1 thing:
You don’t know racing
Data logger is essential for every racing.
That OBD II doesn’t serve as data logger either
If for instance a Porsche 911 GT3 RSR is fitted with a data recording device, I understand this in some ways (because this car is usually used on closed tracks, although it is road-legal).
But data recording in a Golf R? Hm…
did you know golf r has 300hp and near 400nM torque which is not that ordinary car has?
Suprima S sure smoke this junk car.
Are you kidding me?
If you can see Suprima S cut off the Golf R, then you must be blinded.
Golf R just simply press the accelerate pedal, your Suprimau can’t even chase the smoke of Golf R.
As i know, the Golf R has 2.0 cc engine and high torque output which means it has better pickup power and can reach higher top speed than the Suprima S.
Japanese car will get it free!!
Eat my shorts Europeans!!!
As the top speed of a japanese car is 120km/h only, of course you’ll get it for free.
The data recorder can be made with a CPU from 1972, still fast enough for japanese cars.
*LOL* (liking all comments here.)
Thank you VW car for giving me a lot of problems~~
Well.. As a VW owner, I didn’t face any issue with my car.
I drive VW Golf, I’ve sent my car to the service center for clutch replacement, so far my car didn’t have any issue.
Previously, my VW Passat got DSG issue but this issue has been fixed since I sent it to the service center for gearbox oil replacement. After that, my car doesn’t have any issue. Moreover, I can see their after sales service is improving.
