In the span of 24 hours, Johor police have collected RM99,450 in outstanding traffic summonses incurred by non-Malaysian-registered vehicles in an Ops Saman Tertunggak Warga Asing that began yesterday, Utusan Malaysia reports.
Singaporean vehicles recorded the most unpaid summonses at 313,661 – that’s 37.4% of a total of 838,510 summonses issued to foreign vehicles for various traffic offences between 2000 and 2013, the report said.
“(Translated) The operation took place in three locations near entry points to this country – KM 2, Jalan Tebrau, Pandan R&R on the Eastern Dispersal Link, and the Second Link Expressway at Gelang Patah,” the Malay-language daily quoted Johor head of police Datuk Mohd Mokhtar Mohd Shariff as saying.
Mohd Mokhtar said a total of 555 overdue foreigner-incurred summons were settled in the operation, with RM64,269 collected through cash and RM35,190 through credit cards.

Good good…rich Singaporean came here to speed on our highway. Should have special saman rates for them. Like 1000% increase!!!
Not enough. Incur any other form of fee on them whether in saman form or toll to keep them off our damn roads.
I swear the way they drive are far worse than Penang drivers.
Totally agree.
That’s what they are good at…..collecting money!!!!
That’s what they are good at…… collecting money!!!
RM100k is hardly news. What should be shown is how much was collected against what was outstanding. So we know whether foreigners are paying up well or not. Or whether collection effort is good enough by the authorities.
Yep! Would love to hear the outstanding amount that yet to be paid to us..Keep on summoning those kiasu’s! They just don’t mind though..they love to spend their sing dollars here.. :)
