mclaren 675lt teaser

McLaren is reintroducing its Longtail moniker from 1997, and the new car to carry the LT model designation will be making its global debut in Geneva alongside the production version of the track-focused McLaren P1 GTR.

The McLaren 675LT, as it’s called, is a road legal offering that will join the 650S and lower-powered, Asia-only 625C in the newly named McLaren Super Series, which is positioned above the recently announced Sports Series in the brand’s range hierarchy.

Full details have yet to be revealed, and the car itself is still pretty much under wraps, with only a teaser shot of the wheel and a video to be had for now. What’s known is that the 675LT is a souped-up derivative of the 650S, with an extended tail – the company says it will be the lightest, quickest and purest offering in the range.

As the model number suggests, power output is 675 PS (or 666 hp, which sounds more diabolical), making the car the biggie in the Super Series. The car will only be available in coupe form, and first deliveries are due to begin later in the year. More as it gets closer to Geneva.
