First spied undergoing trials near the Nurburgring last year, the new Hyundai Tucson is due to make its global debut in Geneva early next month. Ahead of that, the Korean automaker has presented a first view of what to expect through a design sketch.
The depiction presents a SUV with a more mature and sophisticated design language than the vehicle it’s replacing, with a form characterised by flowing surfaces, bold proportions, sharp lines and the brand’s signature hexagonal grille.
The automaker has also released a teaser video showing the creation of a first design sketch of the third-gen offering, complete with a design insight from Hyundai Motor Group’s president and chief design officer Peter Schreyer.
Technical details will likely have to wait until the vehicle is introduced at the Swiss show, but as previously reported, the powertrain solutions for the new Tucson aren’t expected to veer from that currently available for the second-gen – the existing range of 1.6 litre to 2.4 litre Gamma, Nu and Theta II petrol engines as well as 1.7 and 2.2 litre CRDi diesels are expected to feature on the new car, as will the six-speed manual and automatic gearboxes found now. More when Geneva runs.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
I just already imagine all the crazy ones going out there and slap some offset Vossen rims to follow the concept drawing.
lol.
More kimchis to be driven, more sour faces to be seen during trade-in.
I like every bit of the car, but the rim will turn me off. Stop being a copycat.
Bring them in quick once launched.
Can’t wait to show the Hilux to current Tucson owners
wait until you see, and especially sit in the new car. more than 90% of all the hoo-haas, pumped up that you get by seeing its exterior will be gone. hyundai really needs to show people they are serious about the interior too, don’t just give people the el-cheapo interior time and time again.
Just wait till you get demoted, family members give you a funny look, girlfriend dumps you & you start having TV dinners, I will be the next person to approach and Hilux will be the the car I show to you
Very pleasant looking indeed. Note to Audi: This is how you design a proper hexagonal grille for Q7.
