Mazda 6 facelift to arrive in March as CBU, CKD later

The great news just keep on coming, as we’ve also been informed that the facelifted Mazda 6 will be headed for our shores very soon – as early as March or April this year, in fact!

Like the current car, the refreshed version of the slinky D-segment beauty is slated to arrive in Malaysia first in fully-assembled form, all the way from Japan. The often-reported locally-assembled model, also facelifted, is apparently still on the cards, reaching showrooms later this year.

Unveiled at Los Angeles last year, the new 6 gets a new front fascia, featuring revised LED projector headlights with Mazda 2-like daytime running lights, a more pronounced chrome wing, horizontal slats in the grille and new fog light surrounds with chrome accents. The rear end has also been updated with new LED tail lights.

There are bigger changes inside, with a completely redesigned dashboard, a new instrument cluster, a cleaner switchgear layout, a freestanding touchscreen hooked up to an MZD Connect infotainment system, an electronic parking brake as well as a new off-white colour scheme option.

A Drive Selection switch has been added to the six-speed SkyActiv-Drive automatic transmission – including a more responsive Sport mode – and noise levels at cruising speeds have dropped by as much as 25%. The 2.0 litre and 2.5 litre SkyActiv-G direct-injected petrol four-pots remain unchanged.

Safety-wise, the i-ActivSense feature list has been expanded to include adaptive headlights, Lane-keep Assist System (LAS) on top of the existing Lane Departure Warning system, and Driver Alert. The existing Smart City Brake Support (SCBS) and Pre-crash Throttle Control (PTC) now include rear obstacle and vehicle detection, while Blind Spot Monitoring (BSM) has been updated with Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA).

You won’t go wrong with sushi cars. But the fact is, ppl will tend to buy Camry instead of this.

The fact is,the Camry is unsafe and UMW has been caught in the act by taking out VSC for the sake of profits! Makes you wanna take his RV money and shove it so far up his nostrils, until he’ll never be able to see the light of day!

Make sure your nose hair stop having wet dreams that you wake up with a flu every morning. Nobody wants to touch your garbage Camry coz it puts people’s life at risk! If they want RV,they rather go for other sushi brands, while you take out features and charge a ‘so hai’ price.

Mazda 6 is a great looking car. everyone love to have it. but the cons side will be the chassis. when it travel you can hear all the loosing sound everywhere. wither they claim and change all the parts but still cannot solve the problem.

    • hahaha.. i own current mazda 6 for nearly 2 years, none what you claim make sense. yes, the ride a bit firm but u can justified with great cornering and high speed. At 230kmh the car stick on the road and those electric assist steering become heavy for stability. also fit and finish are great with high quality material but not fancy like accord. To summer up this car not suitable for someone who treat their car like appliances.

blue one stands out , stil a head turner mazda 6….i jus wish all those base D segment cars ditch the 2.0 cc spec n offer either a diesel or a small cc turbo…bcos in this size n segment , no matter how high tech ur NA engine is , its just barely enough , n u always wish u had jus that little bit more power!
