A lot of the disguise has come off the upcoming Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet since the last time we saw it in May 2014. Mercedes-Benz hasn’t built a drop trop version of the S-Class since the old W111 “Fintail” from the 60s, but that’ll change with this car.
This prototype appears to be using a folding soft top roof, and we don’t expect that to change with the production version. The S-Class is a big car – a metal folding roof will probably make it too heavy anyway.
Engine options will likely mirror that of the S-Class Coupe – a 4.7 litre twin turbo S500, a 5.5 litre turbo S63 and a 6.0 litre twin turbo V12 S65.
