Jeep has launched the Grand Cherokee with a 3.0 litre Pentastar V6 engine in Indonesia. The combo was first seen in China, but Indonesia is the first right-hand drive market to get the Grand Cherokee 3.0, which replaces the 3.6 litre V6 in the republic.
The naturally-aspirated six-pot motor produces 230 hp and 280 Nm, and is mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Drive goes to all four wheels through a Quadra-Trac II full-time 4WD system. The fourth-gen WK2, which takes aim at the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz ML, is available in Overland and Limited trims. The 3.0 also powers the Wrangler in Indonesia.
Jeep recently made its comeback in Malaysia after a 15-year absence, and the Grand Cherokee 3.6 V6 (284 hp/347 Nm) is one of the four models DRB-Hicom’s subsidiary EON is selling (Cherokee, Wrangler and Compass are the others). Imported from the USA, the big SUV is priced at RM468,889 for the Overland RM448,889 for the Limited. If we are to get the smaller engine as well, those prices could well come down.

Jeep is good no doubt. But our fortuneer also good. Forget the 4-speed auto. It still gives you power and efficient too. The most important thing is high RV.
If you don’t like the articles on this site, why don’t you start your own saloon.org website? Nobody wants to read your condescending comments.

280Nm… is that enough torque?
Well if i have 500k i’d rather spend it to buy Range Rover over this.
Here selling for RM300-400k, convert to rupiah dunno for how much million gazillion they’re sold in Indo…
i don’t know but a 3.0 V6 engine in a big american SUV sounds funny to me. unless that engine is turbo-charged.
Dear Danny Tan, Indonesia is not the first RHD market to get the Jeep Grand Cherokee 3.0L Pentastar. The first RHD market to launch this was Trinidad & Tobago in the Caribbean towards the end of 2014.
Such a handsome front end. It’s a pity they’re so expensive here.

Good test. I believe those who can afford RM400k+ wouldn’t want to buy a dangerous SUV like this.
