An all-new 2016 Chevrolet Spark is expected to make its world debut this early April at both the 2015 New York International Auto Show (2015 NYIAS) and the 2015 Seoul Motor Show after Chevrolet has gone and drop a teaser of it – a similar move was made earlier to hint at a new Chevrolet Malibu.
Being a completely new model, the new Spark compact hatch differs quite heavily from its predecessor by including a restyled, larger front grille with a gaping intake. The head lamps themselves have been revised to feature a chunkier styling, effectively dropping the slightly dopey looks of the previous model.
Profile wise, the new car has also developed more pronounced haunches, especially over the rear wheels. Like its ancestor, the new Chevrolet Spark will come with rear door handles mounted in near the C-pillar for that coupe-like silhouette. Despite the blackened void, we can most definitely expect new wheel designs.
Technical specs remain a mystery, for obvious reasons. With that said, the Spark shares its underpinnings with the Opel Karl and Vauxhall Viva. As a result, drivetrain options shouldn’t stray too far away, which should result in a 1.0 litre three-cylinder engine with 75 hp being offered.
