Volkswagen has announced that it is coming up with a seven-seater version for its next-gen Volkswagen Tiguan – the three-row model will be built in Mexico, with production set to begin towards the end of 2016 for a 2017 market introduction.
The automaker said that production of the extended-wheelbase Tiguan isn’t just meant for North American market consumption, and that the model will be supplied to South America and other countries around the world, with the exception of Europe and China. No mention was made if RHD production is on the cards.
Volkswagen will be pumping in US$1 billion into upgrading the Puebla plant, which assembles the Golf, and the expansion will add 2,000 jobs. The automaker is also building another seven-seater SUV in the United States – previewed by the CrossBlue Concept last year, the midsize offering will be built at the company’s Chatanooga plant in Tennessee.
The current Typ 5N Tiguan – which sits on the company’s PQ35 platform – made its market debut in 2007 (in Malaysia, 2008), and was facelifted in 2011. The second-generation Tiguan will utilise VW’s Modular Transverse Matrix (MQB) platform – the new SUV is expected to premiere in Frankfurt later this year.

Every car design is almost the same to me.. I don’t think its an issue for the concept or car design to be similar lo. Maybe the exterior would be similar but the interior of the car would be different loh..
