Lamborghini Huracan to spawn two RWD variants

Lamborghini Huracan-02

You’ve heard it all before – Lamborghini is nothing but a shadow of its hairy-chested, flame-spitting past now that Audi has taken over the reigns at Sant’Agata. To those who believe so, Lamborghini has the answer to that. As Evo UK can confirm, the firm is already working on two RWD variants of the Lamborghini Huracan.

Much like its predecessor, the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Huracan is exclusively offered with all-wheel drive. In the case of the Gallardo, it spawned multiple rear-wheel drive variants towards the end of its life cycle – introducing a rear-wheel drive Huracan so early in might indicate a slight shift in mentality at the firm.

The rear-wheel drive Huracan is likely to be a more track-oriented car à la Huracan GT3, with less weight and more power from its naturally-aspirated 5.2 litre V10 pumping out 610 PS and 560 Nm of torque and will most likely be christened the Huracan Superleggera. Targets include the Ferrari 488 GTB and McLaren 675LT.

Following on from the Huracan Superleggera, expect a Huracan-lite (Huracan LP610-2, perhaps?) to debut in similar fashion to the Gallardo LP550-2. Initially revealed as a limited edition model called the LP550-2 Balboni, the LP550-2 was then introduced as an entry-level model in the Gallardo stable.

In Malaysia, the Lamborghini Huracan LP610-4 was launched in August 2014 and carries a price tag of RM2.1 million with duties. The V10 is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox – no word on a manual option for the future – and dashes from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds before topping out at 325 km/h.

For a lot of Proton drivers, they are already driving a Huracan.

To survive in Proton cabin, daytime dream is essential. Some even dreaming they are driving F22 in their Proton.

        The power of day dreaming.

Expect the horsepower of the RWD Huracan to be elevated up to around 650bhp-660bhp region to match the latest Ferrari & Mclaren offerings. I also foresee the upcoming new Ford GT will also join the party too.
