Land Rover Malaysia has released new prices with GST – some are up and some are down. The price increases are between RM3,000 and RM30,000; the reductions between RM1,000 and RM12,000. Note that all prices quoted here are nett selling prices (before road tax, registration and insurance).
The popular Evoque is between RM14,000 and RM15,000 more expensive, or 3.5-3.75% dearer. Meanwhile, the great-grand-daddy Defender 110 Double Cab‘s price drops by RM5,000 to RM153,888, representing a considerable 3.15% decrease. Our Defender is locally-assembled (CKD) at Inokom’s Kulim plant.
Curiously, the two lower Range Rover Sport variants (3.0 supercharged V6 and 3.0 SDV6) knock RM12,000 off their pre-GST prices – the biggest decrease in monetary terms – but the top Range Rover Sport 5.0 supercharged V8 is now RM21,000 more expensive at RM1.02 million.
Likewise, the lowest and highest Range Rover variants (4.4 SDV8 and 5.0 supercharged V8) are pricier by RM16,000 and RM30,000 respectively, while the middle-child Range Rover 3.0 supercharged V6 sees a paltry RM1,000, or 0.1%, price drop.
