The Seat Alhambra facelift has been revealed with a revised engine lineup and mild cosmetic enhancements. The seven-seater Spanish cousin of the Volkswagen Sharan is due to hit showrooms by the end of the second quarter of this year.
Echoing its recently revamped German stablemate, the Seat Alhambra facelift sports restyled front grille flanked by new LED headlamps. Elsewhere, the twin five-spoke wheels are also new while the rear end of the car receives LED taillights. The range has also been streamlined to include three trim levels – Reference, Style and Style Advanced.
Under the bonnet, five engine are offered with three diesels sitting alongside two petrol options. Starting with the diesel range, a 2.0 TDI engine is offered in three different states of tune – 115 PS, 150 PS, 184 PS (with 380 Nm of torque). On the petrol side of things, customers can choose from two TSI engines with outputs quoted at 150 PS and 220 PS (with 350 Nm of torque). Adaptive Chassis Control (DCC) is also featured.
A DSG double-clutch transmission can be paired to all engine choices bar the base diesel variant while the mid-range oil burner with 150 PS is available with all-wheel drive. Said DSG gearbox features a ‘coasting-function’ that decouples the engine when the driver lifts off the throttle.
Changes on the inside are just as minute as they are on the outside with the inclusion of a new steering wheel and additional trim colours. Elsewhere, the Seat Alhambra comes with the marque’s new Easy Connect infotainment system which brings along a higher-resolution touchscreen. Extra goodies include keyless entry and start system along with massage-function for the seats.
On the safety front, a “multi-collision brake” system comes as standard – said system automatically applies the brakes to avoid a secondary collision following the initial impact. In addition to that, a Blind-Spot Sensor is also available on the facelifted Seat Alhambra.
