Just introduced to the Malaysian market at the recent 2015 BMW World Malaysia, the new five-door lifestyle vehicle marks a journey into new territory for the brand. The BMW 218i Active Tourer – it’s where function meets style, and space meets comfort.
While there’s no mistaking it for anything else other than a BMW on the road, the new model has plenty of hidden talents. The car’s rear hatch opens to a large 468-litre boot, which is expandable to a massive 1,510 litre cargo area by bringing down the 40:20:40 split-folding and sliding rear seats.
Under the hood is a 1.5 litre BMW TwinPower Turbo engine – shared with the all-new BMW i8 – that makes 136 hp and 220 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a six-speed Steptronic automatic transmission, and performance specs include a top speed of 205 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of 9.2 seconds.
