It would appear that Fiat’s investment plans to rejuvenate its model lineup are swinging into overdrive as spyshots of the next-generation 2016 Fiat Bravo have surfaced – the replacement for the ageing Linea sedan will, reportedly, be based on the next-gen Bravo’s platform.
Aesthetically, not much can be gleaned from the prototype’s current state. However, the 2016 Fiat Bravo looks set to retain its handsome five-door profile if these shots are anything to go by with. Up front, a bolder grille looks set to be flanked by sweptback headlight assemblies while the rear could feature an evolved version of the current Fiat Punto‘s layout.
The new Bravo, along with other future variants of it, are expected to ride on the Small Wide platform that currently underpins the Fiat 500L and 500X as well as the Jeep Renegade. Also, a compact MPV based on the Bravo has been rumoured for an appearance in 2017.
Under the bonnet of the new Fiat Bravo, a myriad of engines are expected to be carried over from the Fiat 500L and 500X models – that would mean a range consisting of Multijet II diesel mills as well as a turbocharged MultiAir petrol engine. The new Bravo family will be assembled at the Bursa plant, operated by Fiat’s Turkish joint venture, Tofas.
