The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) has said there are no plans to raise the toll rates, and has refuted a report by a website that said a toll hike will happen in August, with 19 highway concessionaires set to increase toll rates by 50 to 100%.
“No such directive has been issued to concession companies on the matter. As such, any statement or report on toll rate increase is not true,” LLM director-general Datuk Ismail Md Salleh said in a statement.
The government has not made any decision on raising the toll rate, he said, adding that for now, the toll rate for all highways would remain at the current rate.
Last November, it was reported that there were no plans to increase the toll rates for 20 highways this year, but the government was expected to pay RM558.69 million in compensation to highway concessionaires as a result.
Then, in a follow-up report, Works minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said that no decision had been made on whether or not toll rates will be increased in 2015.
It was also reported that according to concession agreements for 2015, as many as 20 highways are eligible to receive an increase in toll rates between 50 sen and RM2.

yeah, not in August, probably in September, perhaps?
Damn, what they had in their mind….still thinking to increased toll fares? WTH
Just the matter of time. A lot of groceries are tuning up the pricing this month. Real GST effect comes.
Its not a matter of “if”, but “when”. The rates will go up, thats a given, we just don’t know when.
But Anthony, just to confirm, the rate increase of between 50 sen to RM2.00 is per KM travelled or per toll exit? I do hope its the latter.
Since when is toll rate calculated by sen/km? We’d all be paying bombs for toll then, sekali toll habis gaji haha.
Yes it would be per toll exit.
Last minute election scare & hate mongering tactics?
Now say no raise.
After the by-election, raise, what can we do? Can we take this report and say “hey you promised!!”…
