Volkswagen has released sketches of the upcoming Golf GTI Clubsport concept, ahead of its Wörthersee 2015 debut in Austria. Three drawings have been released of the specially dressed-up three-door GTI Mk7.
Powering the Golf GTI Clubsport is a 2.0 litre TSI engine that kicks out 260 hp, which is 40 hp more than a regular Golf GTI with the optional Performance Package. Expect it to have beefed-up chassis, suspension and brakes to handle the extra grunt.
Based on the sketches, the GTI Clubsport gets a more aggressive front end, with two functional air ducts where the fog lamps are on the standard GTI. At the back, it gets a new roof spoiler and a redesigned rear diffuser. The stylised 10-spoke alloys look massive too, but that is to be expected of sketches.
Recently, it was made public that Volkswagen will put the Golf R420 into production (based on the R400 Concept), while Audi had just revealed the bonkers 600 hp TT Clubsport Turbo Concept, which will also be shown at Wörthersee 2015. Stay tuned for more details.
