New Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo introduced in Thailand

Vios TRD Sportivo Thailand-15

Toyota has introduced the Toyota Vios TRD Sportivo in Thailand. Priced at 694,000 baht (RM73,985), the new TRD Sportivo is the middle variant of the Thai Vios range, sitting below the top S and G, but above the E and base J variants.

The TRD Sportivo adds on new 15-inch wheels (with 185/60 tyres), a black front grille garnish, LED daytime running lights, chromed tail pipe, front/rear bumper add-ons and side skirts.

Interior enhancements include black leather with carbon fibre-like trim on the seats, with matching interior trim, plus a reverse camera. No mechanical changes, so the 1NZ-FE 1.5 litre VVTi engine with 109 PS and 141 Nm carries on, paired to a four-speed automatic.

The TRD Sportivo add ons you see here differ from the kit that’s currently available in Malaysia, so it could be a preview of things to come. In front, the black strip above the Toyota logo is a new part, replacing the stock chrome item. The DRLs are still located below the fog lamps, but the new bumper extension looks more streamlined here, with the big lower grille’s original shape maintained.

There’s also a black lip that matches the black side skirts, and the wheels are new two-tone, 10-spoke items – with Toyota Racing Development centre caps, of course.

At the back, there’s a dramatic looking boot spoiler, and the entire piece of rear bumper add-on is in black. Our current item has a “floating” black piece in the middle. Each part has a small TRD Sportivo logo to mark it out as original. There’s also a black/red decal that “flows” from the headlamps to the front doors.

Compare the new Thai Vios TRD Sportivo with our current car with the pics below.

so high resale value > safety ?
so high resale value > your life ?
so high resale value > family’s life ?

        Safety always comes first.

      • Among American car users. Among their concerns lay along the lines of safety and fuel efficiency.

The sole thing Malaysians care about is resale value and that tops all other priorities.

Best Engine now – Ford Ecoboost
      1.0litre making 125hp, rather than 1.5l only making 109hp
      18-19km/l vs 11km/l vios

best engine sub 1.4-Litre to 1.8-Litre,
BMW-PSA Peugeot Citroen 1.6-litre turbo petrol

please Sam Loo, tell people the truth ..

Even new City beats Vios all the way, Safety/fuel economy/practicality …

All those TRD kits not gonna make Vios any faster or more fuel efficient.

Sound like Toyota is fooling buyer again. When we can have new engine such as 5 speed gear box and new dual vvti? Come on Toyota, the steering audio control is missing,Why? Will the bodykit, garang decal, and the flip over HUD will make this Vios more hp? I felt Toyota still dreaming and dint wake up.

Believe me or not, nowaday skyactive engine model of Mazda Resales Value is improving and as good as T&H logo.
    Beware Toyota。

Can dream it will run like racing car, but once it crash (it’s much more easier to crash anyway, even Total RetarD Sportivo), they can ‘TATA’ (bye bye) anytime, even the ‘almighty’ sayap and sirip can’t save them due to no VSC.

  • Toyota should improve new engine , better fuel consumption or increase Horsepower n Torque. Cosmetic n TRD. What for ??? Let the owner add on do alteration individual preference . Like buy a house developer built , and later owner do renovation. Transmission improved to at least 6-speed automatic.

If they come out with 5 or 6 speed automatic or cvt, they don’t have to rebate the RM8k. Definitely don’t cost RM8k to upgrade to 5 or 6 speed automatic or cvt. Even better if come with paddle shifter. Outdo your competitors. These Toyota people really have chicken brains.

Isn’t TRD supposed to be Toyota Racing Development? I see no mechanical upgrades on this model. The unnecessary body kits would add more weight thus affect the fuel consumption. At least put a more capable engine for the TRD nameplate.

Toyota claim that the bodykit can push 7Hp,the sticker can push 8Hp,and most powerful boost is the head unit player, can push 20Hp. Provided buyer is idiot and all this boost will happen. LOL
