Mercedes-AMG GT-S spotted on a transporter in KL

The Mercedes-AMG GT has been spotted in KL – the photo of a GT-S on a transporter was posted on Facebook by user What A Car. The car should be a Fire Opal Red example, but the tone set by the windscreen’s tint in the photo makes the front end look closer to the special Designo Hyacinth Red option.

No idea if the particular GT-S is a grey import or a Mercedes-Benz Malaysia unit – MBM has of course annnounced that the sportscar will be making its debut here, but this is slated towards the end of the year. If it is, it’s here very early, so there’s also the possibility this is a parallel import.

The car is already in Thailand – it made its Thai premiere at the 2015 Bangkok Motor Show in March, and back in April the AMG Solar Beam Yellow GT-S debutant was on display at the Mercedes-Benz Cafe at the Emporium Shopping Complex. In the Kingdom, the car retails for 14.9 million Baht (RM1.64 million).

The car is currently shipping in its more upmarket 510 hp and 650 Nm GT-S form – the ‘baseline’ 462 hp and 600 Nm GT will only start arriving into the market in a couple of months time.

  • Highly doubt MBM would transport a car on a small flatbed without a cover just like that.

The price is nearer to Porsche 911 Turbo than Aventador, around the 2 mil mark. You need at least 3 mil for the Lambo.

        Errrr… a 911 turbo costs about 1.2 M

An aventador costs 2.3M brand new. This Merc is gonna cost around 2M onwards. Definately more exp than the SLS which retails for 2M at the moment.

Pls read up on ur facts before talking rubbish here

Highly doubt it is an official unit, MBM would know best to actually cover it at least.

Plus, it is missing most of the transport plastic as well….

One thing is for sure, the AMG GTS is really one sight to behold. Can give the 911 a run…

  • I saw this same transporter in the North–South Expressway heading to Ipoh/Penang direction from KL.
The GT-S was covered with white car cover only on highway.
