SPIED: W213 Mercedes-AMG E 63 looks the business

Mercedes E63 AMG 3

Whenever a new Mercedes-Benz E-Class comes around, it’s taken as gospel that a pumped-up AMG variant is hot on its heels. And so it is with the upcoming W213 – the car hasn’t even been launched yet, and already our European spy photographers have managed to capture the menacing Mercedes-AMG E 63 being tested.

Telltale AMG signs that dot the cookie-cutter Mercedes exterior styling (clearly following the lead of the W205 C-Class and W222 S-Class) include an aggressive AMG GT-style front air dam with characteristic “A-wing” design, deeper side sills and trademark quad exhaust exits. The wheel arches also look wider than on the standard car, and house large alloys hiding massive slotted and cross-drilled disc brakes.

Based on the same Modular Rear Architecture (MRA) as on the latest C- and S-Class, the new E-Class is tipped to shed as much as 100 kg off the current W212 thanks to a more extensive use of aluminium, despite being longer and wider for increased interior space.

This should go well with the increased performance expected to come from AMG’s new 4.0 litre biturbo V8 currently seeing service in the AMG GT and C 63. As we’ve seen on recent AMG models, there will probably be two states of tune – the standard E 63 and the more powerful E 63 S; the latter is expected to push past the 600 hp barrier.

Looking at the first picture, I thought it was a C Class. Had to double check the post to confirm its an E Class.

By the shape of it..looks like a baby S Class or a bigger C Class as the exterior shapes looks the same.

Tell me why need to spend so much money on supercars such as Huracan (610bhp) while this four door sedan has around 600bhp?
Supercars need to keep up and make a huge gap with these sedans!
