Toyota Fortuner and Hilux switch faces via renderings

Ever imagined what a 2016 Toyota Fortuner looks like with a 2016 Toyota Hilux face, and vice versa? Well, imagine no more, because rendering wiz Theophilus Chin has decided to see how each shapes up with the other’s front end.

In this Face/Off moment, both SUV and pick-up get their faces swapped, and the results are quite striking. Theo thinks that the SUV counterpart of pick-up trucks get a better looking front fascia. What do you think – does the swap make the Fortuner more stoic and give the Hilux more flair. or do you prefer the front ends as they are?

The eight-gen Hilux was the first of the duo to debut, doing so in May. Highlights on this one include two new turbodiesel engines, new six-speed ‘intelligent’ manual and auto gearboxes as well as a thicker, stronger frame and enhanced comfort, safety and convenience features.

As for the new Fortuner, the seven-seater SUV officially broke cover last week. The second-gen offering has been totally redesigned with a sleek new look and a more premium-looking interior. The new turbodiesels from the Hilux also find their way on here.

For me, the Fortuner definitely looks wayy better with the Hilux nose and the Hilux seems very natural with the borrowed nose.. it’s almost like thats how it should’ve been !.. Well done Theophilus

  • Wait atleast another 5 years then the intercooler version will be available. Then the dream of the ultimate hilux for Malaysian market pumping 202bhp & 525Nm, will be realized.
