Mazda UK has released a couple of new videos showing off the new Mazda 2 – the stylish supermini is the platform for a series of stunts that aim to showcase the car’s strength and play off its youthful image.
The first film stars Timothy Shieff, a professional freerunner who attempts to run along a wall whilst hanging off the side of the Mazda 2. To facilitate the stunt, the car is specially fitted with handlebars on the roof and side sills, and Shieff uses his upper body strength to keep himself horizontal.
In the second video, breakdancer Stefan performs his routine atop the 2, this time outfitted with a platform on the roof. The stunt is particularly impressive when you consider that the car is moving and that the platform is so small, making the placement of his hands even more important as he goes from move to move.
The Mazda 2 is on sale now in both hatchback and sedan bodystyles, powered by a 114 hp/148 Nm 1.5 litre SkyActiv-G petrol engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission. Both variants are priced at RM87,956 on-the-road with insurance.
