Recently spotted in Malaysia going along Jalan Sultan Ismail wearing a Maruti Suzuki badge, the 2015 Suzuki Ciaz now has its own TV spot. As far as ads go, this one is rather tacky, but enjoyable nonetheless.
As for dimensions, the Ciaz comes in at 4,490 mm in length, while the wheelbase measures in at 2,650 mm which means that it sits in C-segment territory. However, it is marketed as a B-segment sedan to go against the likes of the Honda City in India. Hence, perhaps that’s the reason why the ad was made in such a manner – to showcase the spacious rear passenger seats.
Engines for the Suzuki Ciaz come in four variations, depending on markets: a small 1.25 litre petrol engine that makes 91 PS and 118 Nm in Thailand (it gains eco car status there), either a 95 PS/130 Nm 1.4 litre petrol mill or a 1.3 litre DDiS turbodiesel in India, and a 121 hp/158 Nm 1.6 litre petrol option in China. The Ciaz is paired to a CVT gearbox.
This handsome sedan should be making its way here sometime in the near future. So, are you guys as impressed as these two blokes here?
Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
The proper name for this car should be Suzuki Cial
Only RM70K for top spec CVT auto model in Thailand. Anything higher price here better don’t buy it.
Honda City rear end?
Waiting for proton to rebadge this car. Maybe the right answer to compete with soon-to-be-launched Perodua sedan. Having the advantage on lotus handling failed to do the trick anymore. This one is more comfy & frugal than the City (according to Indian auto review for 1.4L version). Equip that with 5 star ANCAP safety features & price under RM60k, it will be a clear winner.
im looking forward for a small sedan sub rm80k price. waiting for this, perodua sedan, and probably newer version of attrage if mitsubishi is developing it.
That City butt is a turn off for me so no-no
