The practice session for the inaugural KL City Grand Prix has been postponed to a provisional slot at 2pm following a decision by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). The practice session was slated to begin at 8.45am but has since been rescheduled “due to remedial works to the circuit”, Bernama reports.
“All practice and race programmes for this morning will start after all remedial works to the circuit are completed. The provisional time for the start of all sessions now will be 2pm, subject to the satisfaction of the stewards upon re-inspection of the track at 1.30pm,” said chief steward, James Leong.
For those who want to soak in the race atmosphere this weekend, take note. A total of five major roads (overview below) will be closed, from 7.30am to 6pm on August 7 to 9, to make way for the race with the list including Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak and Jalan P. Ramlee. Also, GOKL, RapidKL, Metrobus and Setara Jaya bus services will be rerouted.
