Lotus Exige 360 Cup: limited edition gets power boost

Lotus Exige 360 Cup-09

British brand Lotus have come up with a limited edition Lotus Exige 360 Cup. An extension of the Exige V6 Cup, the two-door has been reworked to be a more aerodynamic vehicle – and of course more powerful and lighter –of which only 50 will be made. As standard, the car comes with Motorsport Red wheels and embroidered seats and dash panel.

An additional 10 PS of power is derived from a freer-flowing induction for the supercharger of the 3.5 litre V6 engine, as well as a sports exhaust system, officially bumping up the power figure to 360 PS (hence the name) from the original 350 PS. You can be sure this little two-door racer sounds good on the road too.

To reduce drag, the aero package from the Exige V6 Cup has been carried over, which means it gets an optimised front splitter, rear diffuser and wing which gives the limited edition Exige 360 Cup a total of 42 kg of downforce at 160 km/h. It also has improved brake discs behind all four wheels.

Additionally, the special edition Lotus is also fitted with a lightweight front access panel alongside a lightweight rear tailgate and louvered panel. It also gets a numbered Lotus Motorsport build plate inside as well, for that added exclusivity. Purchasing one will also give owners the eligibility to partake in the Lotus Cup race series, according to the company.

Also available as options are a new red Alcantara interior, adjustable anti-roll bars, Öhlins race dampers, an electrical cut-off, FIA carbon seats, air-conditioning and a removable steering wheel as well as a fire extinguisher. Colour options for the Exige 360 Cup range from Metallic While, Metallic Grey, Metallic Black and Metallic Silver matched with a stealth matte black roof.

At least what they do is add power along with other functional bits. All these special editions from certain car makes here in Malaysia add nothing but cheap plastic.
