Here’s regular renderer Theophilus Chin’s visualisation of the upcoming new Audi A5. Although he describes it as “predictable” and “boring,” we have to say that it does look good, even though we haven’t seen the actual coupe without disguise.
Even under the swirly stuff, the actual 2017 Audi A5 looks more predictable from the outline of the headlights. They are thicker in comparison with the sleeker ones imagined by Theophilus. That said, we really do love the thin strip that flows across the rear, similar to the Audi Prologue concept that was first seen at the 2014 LA Auto Show in 2014.
Underpinning the upcoming 2017 Audi A5 coupe is the brand’s MLB Evo platform, the same platform that has been applied to the 2015 Audi Q7, so one can expect that Audi’s new coupe would be some 100 kg lighter than its predecessor, thanks to a combination of ultra high-strength steel, aluminium and composite materials.
Powering the new coupe would be a very fuel efficient 2.0 litre TFSI engine that produces 190 hp, lifted from from the B9 Audi A4, while other power options could come in a 2.0 TDI diesel variant along with a 3.0 litre V6 diesel.
So guys do you like Theo’s version of Audi’s two-door coupe?
