Prasarana has announced that there will be a temporary lane closure at the Puchong Perdana interchange, and traffic diversions will be carried out to facilitate the launching works of the segmental box girders for Pier 364 of the Ampang LRT Line Extension Project.

The temporary lane closure and traffic diversions will be implemented in three stages (Stage 2, 2A and 3) from September 9-30, from 11 pm until 5 am daily. The lane closure is necessary to safeguard the safety of motorists as heavy machinery and lifting of materials will take place.

The traffic diversions will involve motorists coming from the LITRAK slip road near Tractors Malaysia towards Jalan PPU1 and Persiaran Puchong Perdana (Stage 2 and 2A), and motorists from Persiaran Puchong Perdana towards Jalan PPU1 and Putrajaya (Stage 3).

Contra-flow traffic will also be implemented on Puchong and Putrajaya-bound traffic from KM25.3 until KM26.1 (Stage 2A and 3) of the LDP. To help ease traffic congestion, there will be two alternative routes for motorists heading towards Jalan PPU1 and Putrajaya.

The first alternative route involves light and heavy vehicles for Stage 2, 2A and 3 travelling from Tractors Malaysia and Putrajaya heading towards Jalan PPU1. In this case, motorists on the LITRAK slip road from Tractors Malaysia heading towards Jalan PPU1 will be re-directed to make a U-turn at the Puchong Perdana interchange, re-entering the LDP to travel towards Bandar Sunway, passing by Kompleks Rakan Muda.

Motorists will then make another U-turn at Tesco Puchong, passing by Setia Walk Mall before turning into Jalan Puchong Lama and finally arrive at the junction of Jalan PPU1, Bandar Puteri and Batu 14 Puchong. Likewise, motorists travelling from Putrajaya towards Jalan PPU1 will be directed to travel towards Bandar Sunway and will be guided to use the same route as mentioned above.

The second alternative route involves light and heavy vehicles for Stage 2, 2A and 3 travelling from Persiaran Puchong Perdana heading towards Jalan PPU1 and Putrajaya.

Motorists travelling towards Jalan PPU1 will be guided to use the same route as mentioned in Alternative Route 1 above – those heading towards Putrajaya will also use Alternative Route 1, continuing their journey towards Putrajaya after passing by Setia Walk Mall.

As is usual practice, road barriers, flagmen and warning signals will be put in place to redirect traffic, and warn motorists of the lane closure and diversions. During the construction period, Prasarana is reminding all motorists to exercise caution and to adhere to advance warnings signs when travelling in the area.

For Stage 2A, motorists coming from Tol Plaza Puchong Barat heading towards Putrajaya will collide head-on with oncoming vehicles coming from Putrajaya. Is the diagram correct?
