The latest 2016 Toyota Hilux is set to receive heaps of optional Toyota Genuine accessories that customers can add to their new trucks. A range of over 60 accessories was created over a five-year development plan, Toyota Australia says.

Goodies include an “industry pack,” targeted at those involved in mining, construction and industrial activities. It comes with LED work lamps, a light bar, wheel chocks, wheel nut indicators, handbrake alert, a choice of tray accessories, prewiring for the installation of an in-vehicle monitoring system and reflective stripes.

Said pack also comprises of a steel tray, a more affordable commercial steel bull bar, a battery terminal and accessory fuse box, an auxiliary battery kit that allows for up to 50 Amps of current to be transferred without sourcing power from the primary battery and a battery isolator switch that works to disconnect the battery.

Other accessories that can be had for the new 2016 Toyota Hilux includes a snorkel to give the truck better air flow, two different types of tool boxes along with an easy-release bed slide on rollers which grants trouble-free access to items, a towbar and a load distribution hitch that can put up with the increased towing capacity of the truck.

A hard tonneau or soft tonneau cover, a stainless steel nudge bar, a heavy-duty one-piece liner for the wheel arches, removable canvas seat covers that’s Isofix-compatible and a range of airbag-compatible bullbars moulded from high-tensile steel or aluminium alloy which conforms to crash tests can also be opted for.

Furthermore, redesigned Toyota canopies with “gullwing” style windows can be customised to come with central locking, curved glass and integrated lighting can be requested for. Current offerings such as bonnet/headlamp protectors, side steps and roof racks are also retained for the new truck.

Developed in Australia where the Hilux will debut next month, many of the components will be exported as well. They fully integrate with the truck’s chassis and overall design, including vehicle crumple zones and airbag deployment.

Dumb claims! With diesel turbos, you can squeeze any amount of power from the engine irregardless of engine longevity. Jack and Jill potato chip can squeeze -100hp.

  • In Australia it’s always about practicality… In Malaysia it’s always about aesthetics. I really hope that some of the accessories will be brought in to sell here especially the “two different types of tool boxes along with an easy-release bed slide on rollers which grants trouble-free access to items”… It’s really useful especially when you don’t have to climb up and into the bed to get stuff

    • In Malaysia its all about showing off. Whats the point of keeping it hidden. With my super large bull bars, I can show pipu. With my dazzling HID headlights & spotlight array, I can show pipu. With my gigantic upsize wheels with bling rims, I can show pipu. With my TRD SPORTIVO championship winning racing stripes, I can show pipu. How to show a rolling trolley to pipu? Malulah!

It will be coming next year, faster book one now or the waiting list will be 1 year.

Many Santa Fe and Sorento owners begging me to trade in their kimchi junk for 25k, very good business for me when the new Fortuner is out.
