Subaru Impreza 5-Door Concept previews successor

The current Subaru Impreza only received a facelift just last year, but it appears Fuji Heavy Industries (FHI) is already forward to replacing its milquetoast C-segment challenger. The company has released teaser sketches of the Subaru Impreza 5-Door Concept – which is said to preview the styling of a next-generation successor – ahead of the car’s 2015 Tokyo Motor Show debut.

Although Subaru’s latest Dynamic & Solid design language features heavily here – it echoes the styling of the new Legacy/Outback, WRX/WRX STi, Levorg and facelifted Forester, with a C-shaped head- and tail light design, a trapezoidal grille and strong haunches above the wheel arches.

No details have been revealed just yet, but expect the next Impreza to soldier on with the existing 1.6 litre and 2.0 litre naturally aspirated flat-four engines, in addition to receiving the 170 PS 1.6 litre Direct Injection Turbo (DIT) boxer from the Levorg; a hybrid variant (like the current Sport Hybrid) could be offered as well. The current transmission options – a manual gearbox or a Lineartronic CVT – should also be carried over.

Apart from this five-door hatch bodystyle, expect the next Impreza to also spawn a sedan variant and a high-riding XV crossover, as well as fire-breathing WRX and WRX STI versions further down the line.

well.Surely they will produce it soon..
judge on WRX concept and XV concept…

Subaru concept is the least concept car in the market(in my opninion lah)
mostly the concept’s design will translate into the production car with some engineering adjustment, of coz. Just see how “plain” and “boring” this concept is…

really disappoint on the Subaru design. It is more on the way of luxury car. The old design better.
