The G11 BMW 7 Series has been launched in Indonesia with prices beginning at 2.09 billion rupiah (RM637,230) for the “entry-level” 740Li Executive variant. Further up, the 740Li Pure Excellence retails for 2.5 billion rupiah (RM762,295). Indonesian motoring portal, AutonetMagz, reports that only two long wheelbase models were listed for local consumption at launch – technically the G12 7 Series, then.
For comparison purposes, the outgoing F01/F02 BMW 740Li carried a price tag of 2.03 billion rupiah (RM626,517), which indicates a price hike of about 60 million rupiah (RM18,526). The 730Li and 730Li Ultimate Edition models, on the other hand, were priced at 1.8 billion (RM555,497) and 2.4 billion rupiah (RM629,605), respectively.
Under the bonnet, both variants are powered by the same turbocharged 3.0 litre straight-six engine with 326 hp and 450 Nm of torque. Said mill is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission with power going to the rear wheels – xDrive all-wheel drive is available on most variants except for the 740i models.
For the Indonesian market, the sixth-gen 7 Series is equipped with BMW’s Laserlight with Selective Beam technology, Welcome Light Carpet, Surround View with parallel Top View capabilities as well as the Active Kidney Grille system – the latter features retractable slats to complement the lower air intake flaps.
Inside, the 7 Series gets the latest iteration of the brand’s iDrive system as standard. On the G11/G12 7 Series, the iDrive 5.0 system one ups the competition by featuring gesture control while a Bowers & Wilkins surround sound system takes care of in-car entertainment. Elsewhere, the BMW 7 Series is also equipped with a panoramic glass roof and Touch Command – the latter includes a removable seven-inch tablet.
Also included as standard is the fancy new key fob with a built-in digital display, dubbed the Display Key. With said key fob, owners can access and control various features onboard the vehicle. Examples include turning on the parking lights and “scheduling” the climate control system to engaging the Remote Control Parking system – said feature allows owners to step out of the car and remotely guide the car into a tight parking lot.

Looking to sell your car? Sell it with Carro.
Why so cheap compared to our 740li prices? Our 740Li prices were RM880k vs RM637k in Indonesia.
Where is Najib’s promise? Why the bodoh Red Shirt never protest about car prices and more interested in Petaling Street stalls?
Why so expensive! Ini mesti salah Najib/Rosmah/Mahathir/Proton/BN/UMNO! Kan? kan? kan?
You’re probably 38-42 years old but most times your language makes you sound like a 12 year old girl.
Dunno. But a 12 year old girl definitely sounds more mature than you.
Confirmed. Tween talking. Gurl bye.
Lantaklah ko. Bukannya aku kesah pun
Why so manja? Fagalert!?
Work hard or drive Accordana.
not accordana.
We call Proton Accord, better than Honda Accord itself.
Car prices in Indonesia are cheaper. But the poor more than in M’sia
Is it me or the nose grille is getting bigger and bigger with every new generation.
The bigger kidney grille symbolises the luxury-premier-on-the-road statement!
That’s a lot of standard kit for our friends in Indonesia but the price will shoot up when it arrives here in Bolehland.
Can always buy second hand f30 just like you. Saving of at least RM 120k for 2 years old car.
Alots of standard kit yes. But price is not listed as ‘at’ but ‘from’. Therefore, its mainly off-the-road price as usually on-the-road price only revealed when u purchased a car in Indon and their OTR isnt like ours with a few thousands hike. Theirs hike even more if u factor in all other additional n hidden cost. But u seldom see a 7 series in Jakarta. The most is Malaysia n Singapore.
You guys cant even afford a brand new car and plz stop complaning about car price! Just drive your old mod wira and you know we will proud of you guys.
To those who dont know, the Indon pricelist probably is off-the-road price. Once u factored in the luxury taxes and everything, on-the-road pricing is actually lebih kurang like Malaysia. Probably around RM 750k plus for entry level 740Li. Btw, i dont see much 7 series in Jakarta but 740Li is flooding KL street. I hate high price but we have to factor in the GDP and also country’s policies.
