Listen up, Subaru fans! You can stop grovelling now – Motor Image has confirmed that the Subaru Levorg will be launched in Malaysia at the midpoint of 2016. The Impreza wagon will reportedly be powered by the marque’s turbocharged 1.6 litre DIT (Direct Injection Turbo) flat-four petrol engine – the same mill in the UK-spec Levorg GT puts out a total of 170 PS and 250 Nm of torque.
All that grunt will, in true Subaru fashion, be diverted to all four corners via a symmetrical all-wheel drive system – a Lineartronic CVT with six virtual ratios is the sole transmission on offer. Unfortunately, Malaysian buyers will not be getting their hands on the larger 2.0 litre turbocharged DIT engine found under the bonnet of the Japanese-spec Subaru Levorg – said mill puts out a tastier 300 PS and 400 Nm in total.
Unfortunately, additional details regarding the soon-to-be-introduced wagon remain murky. The folks responsible for bringing in the car have yet to quote an estimated price tag for the Levorg – said figures are set to be announced only next year due to the unstable ringgit.
The Subaru Levorg was first introduced in Japan as a “prototype” in 2013 before going on sale in its home country later on. In June 2015, said wagon was introduced into the UK in sole GT spec. We could speculate that the Malaysian variant will mirror the UK model since both versions share the same engine. Should that be the case, expect 18-inch alloys and a host of safety kit like blind spot detection and rear vehicle alert.

Hope Subaru train their staffs well. SC here dont even know how to repair their own turbo-engine a few years ago.
@Areyousure, you bought your Subaru from Motor Image or from some dodgy grey importer?
aiyaa…sent to 3rd party…(RS/AE/OTT)…kawtim…heheh
which SC did you go sir? at MIPJ, we have done repairing and rebuilding all customers engine, mostly turbocharged without problems.
cyborg what..
With this price ,i rather buy merz b200 wagon.
what price? unless i missed out on the price… and a b200 is almost rm220k.
Yalor.. what price arr?
This @Axia is cuckoo one is it?
It’s actually more of a legacy wagon, than impreza wagon.
It shared the same width with the subaru outback, and is just marginally lower and shorter.
Levorg = LEgacy, reVOlution, touRinG
i think will be around 220-230k mark
Nice car, see more Subaru on the road lately, their AWD really that good?
Subaru AWD….. u can’t go wrong with it…hehe…AAA…
New engine, good news. Just curious whether 170hp and 25kgm is good enough for a car that size?
Please make a 2.0L turbo version.
they already have, but exclusive for JP market…
take from forester…dump into levorg…dono what so hard why so exclusive
Levorg can be used as Nirvana fleet car
@memori, Good, have you ordered yours?
Finally!! The Levorg is the best looking Subaru in recent years. Happy to see it being made available here. Strange decision not bringing in the 2.0 turbo cos its the same engine as in the Forester XT and WRX, albeit with different tuning (the Levorg actually makes more power/torque than the WRX). And both those cars are sold here.
Anyways, the 1.6 turbo is no slouch either. And with a smaller/lighter engine over the front axle, the 1.6 might have a more balanced handling. The Forester XT already costs RM214k, while the WRX is RM231k. So, perhaps the Levorg 1.6 will be priced somewhere in between
subaru outback already in between. If Motor Image not greedy this levorg should be a bit below forester xt price
WRX is a performance car. Forrester XT is performance SUV. Levorg is more like a practical wagon with a bit of performance when you need it. If benchmarked against another equivalent Wagon in Malaysia is the Mazda 6 Wagon. This price should be in that bracket.
Can anyone explain why the XV is RM115k and all their other models are at least RM200K?
Because it is CKD and it has the least specs & the least powerful engine in the subaru line up. Nevertheless its still a very good car
only the XV is CKD, the rest are all CBU imported from JP
XV before discount is RM145k. Because of competition and slow sales they give huge discount. Smallest of their model here n no turbo.
can get for 90k now….
For 2015 new unit is still above 100k depending on models, for those test drive unit or show room unit from previous years.. Yes, less than 100k.. Besides that if not mistaken they do have 1 show room unit of 2011 Subaru Legacy Turbo selling only around 130k now drop from 200k…
I dunno why they never put levorg 1.6 turbo engine in the XV. I saw the outback near klick and it’s really ugly. On the web it looks decent. I think if Subaru does not perk up, they will be killed by the Germans who are putting all kinds of engines in their SUV’s and raised estates.
