Polestar tuning now for Volvo T5 and D4 engines

Following Volvo Cars’ acquisition of Swedish car tuning company Polestar back in July, it has now released two new Polestar Performance Optimisation programmes for Volvo’s T5 petrol and D4 diesel engines.

Keep in mind that this isn’t a hardware optimisation package that we were told to expect by the company’s R&D director Magnus Skeppstedt, where Polestar-branded high performance suspension parts, exhaust systems, bodykits, and even interior enhancements are installed. Don’t worry, those are said to be launched globally towards the end of 2015, and be available in Malaysia the year after.

Instead, the Polestar Performance Optimisation treatment sees tweaks being made to the powertrain’s software, increasing throttle response, gearshift speed and accuracy, and engine performance. The models available for the new optimisations include the Volvo S60, V60, XC60, V40, and V40 Cross Country. For us here in Malaysia, the Polestar Performance Optimisation programme is currently being offered for T4-powered Volvos.

The Polestar Optimisation programme is developed and designed by the engineers of Polestar, as well as the racing drivers of Cyan Racing, the renamed racing division following Polestar’s acquisition, led by Christian Dahl.

To further define, Polestar Performance Optimization programme was offed locally on S60T6, following with T4 and in fact recently not long ago with T5 as well..but unfortunately we don’t have D4 engine locally.
