Shell V-Power Lego Collection launched in Malaysia

Shell is back with its new V-Power Lego Collection, which is now available at its stations across the country. The collection, which now comprises seven models, includes a mix of Ferrari vehicles, Minifigures, playsets, and a limited-release model.

Among the Ferrari vehicles up for collection are the F12berlinetta, F138 Formula One racer, 250 GTO, and 512S endurance racer. All four are fitted with a small pull-back motor that allows the toy vehicle to travel a minimum of two metres, similar to the vehicles from the previous iteration.

Meanwhile, there are two playsets – a start/finish line with winner’s podium, and a Shell station, which is modelled after the one located on Ferrari’s private Fiorano test track in Maranello. The limited-release model is a Shell tanker that does not have a pull-back motor as those found in the Ferrari vehicles mentioned above.

“Many of us have played with Lego bricks as a child, so why not relive the good old days with friends? With the school holidays fast approaching, perhaps parents can spend more time with their children by building Ferrari collectibles and Lego playsets,” said Tuan Haji Azman Ismail, managing director of Shell Malaysia and Shell Timur.

To be eligible to purchase the Lego models (including the limited-edition Shell Tanker model) at a price of RM9.90, customers will either need to pump a minimum of RM40 worth of Shell V-Power 97, Shell V-Power Racing, or purchase a 4-litre bottle of Shell Helix lubricant (Ultra, HX7, or HX5).

Customers can also purchase the Lego models at a price of RM13.90 when they pump RM40 worth of Shell FuelSave 95 or Shell FuelSave Diesel. However, keep in mind that the limited-edition Shell Tanker model cannot be obtained through this means. There is also a Collector’s Case available that can be purchased at RM70 with a minimum spending of RM40 of any Shell fuels or lubricants.

New models will be released every Sunday from November 1 until December 13, 2015, and will be available for purchase until January 31, 2016. The F138 is currently the first model introduced, and will be followed by the Shell Station (Nov 8), 250 GTO (Nov 15), F12berlinetta (Nov 22), 512S (Nov 29), start/finish line with winner’s podium (Dec 6), and finally, the Shell tanker (Dec 13).

Shell has also organised a public exhibition, which is currently ongoing at Sunway Pyramid (Blue Concourse) from November 5 to November 8. The exhibition will then move northwards towards Gurney Plaza, Penang from November 12 to November 15.

During the exhibition, the public will be able to view all the models from the latest V-Power Lego Collection, while enjoying interactive games and activities. Also on display are significantly larger (1:2 scale) versions of the four Ferrari Lego models, which took 930 hours to build.

Roving trucks will also bring the Shell V-Power Lego experience to the public with a life-sized Lego replica of the Scuderia Ferrari Formula One racer to Klang Valley, Ipoh, Melaka, and other selected locations nationwide.

Good! Hopefully it stays that way because its quite depressing having to que for hours to get toys and people get upset when they cannot get their hands on one. How I wish, there will be more than enough stock for everyone and everyone will just enjoy the toy and not get all stressed up about it.
